38 - Hospital day 6

"Your temperature sank again. You are at 38.7 now. That is very good." Dr jamson writes something in my file. "Meredith will be here in a few minutes to start the basic physio exercises again." He closes the file and hangs it back to my bed. "I have to go now. I am glad you are feeling better." He smiles and i smile back at him. "Thank you. Me too." He laughs and then leaves.

Only two minutes later meredith and tobias enter together. Tobias holds two muffins and a steaming cup in his hands. Why do they come together? What did they do outside? I curse myself for only thinking like that but i can't stop myself. Tobias is such a handsome, sexy, intellegint, brave, kind, loving - i could go on forever - man. And i am... well i am me. Weak and plain. I am to thin and to small. I don't have any quality that Meredith doesn't have.
I banish those thoughts into the back of my brain. I have no room for self doubts right now.
Meredith steps next to my bed and smiles at me. "We will start with just moving your legs a bit. Just up and down and maybe sideways. Then a few sit ups. We won't do much today." Tobias falls on his still unused bed and watches me.
I remove the blanket from my legs and meredith makes the bed completly flat.
"Okay now lift up your right leg and try to hold it." Tobias bites into his muffin and my stomach turns. I turn away and just concentrate on my task. I manage to lift my leg up about two inches. "Okay and now try to hold it as long as you can." My muscles burn but i hold my leg up. I need to train. After ten seconds my muscles are nearly numb. "Okay set it down again. That was enough." Meredith instructs and i slowly put my leg down on the bed again. "Okay and now the other one."
I have to do this exercise three times with each leg. Then i have to lift up small weights. Twenty times with each arm.
Then sit ups. Luckily only ten.

At the end of the training my whole body burns but i still feel good. Finally i started working towards my release again. Kelly explained that to be released you have to be able to walk and jog for at least hundred meters. I hope that i can do that with in the next two weeks. I am pretty optimistic.
Meredith chews her lip. "Do you want to take a few steps? Only with both of our help of course." I look at her with wide eyes. "Am i allowed to do that?" She smiles a bit. "Kelly said that if you do good i should allow you to take a few. So yes." I smile in excitment. "Okay then i'd really like to take a few steps." I say and slowly sit up. "John, we will need your help." Tobias nods and stands up. "What do i do?" He asks and walks next to meredith. They look good next to eachother. I shake my head to get the thought out of my head.
Tobias interprets it differently though. "Don't you want me to help you?" He sounds a bit hurt but maybe i just hear it because i know him so good. "No! Yes! I do want you to help me." Meredith laughs a bit. "Okay then. Lets start. John you take her right side." Tobias nods and i let my feet hang down the bed. I am so small that i don't even reach the ground with my feet. I slowly let myself slip forwards untill my toes touch the ground and then my whole foot. Meredith takes my left arm and tobias my right. I take a shaky step and then another one. They both support some of my weight but it still feels good to be back on my feet again. We walk over to the door and then turn around. By now my legs already started shaking again but i ignore them. I can do this. I won't fall. My legs will support this! I know it. But only two steps away from the bed my legs give in beneath me. My knees bend and if it wouldn't have been for meredith and tobias i would have fallen. "Oopsie." Meredith says and trys to hold me up. Tobias has it easier and just swipes me of my feet so i am laying in his arms bridal style. "Thanks." I say and poke his chest.
He lays me down on the bed and smiles. "I will always be there to catch you when you are falling." I smile back at him. "I love you." I answer. "I love you too." He says and pecks my lips. "Ehem!" Meredith fake clears her throat and i blush. "I am sorry to interupt you..." she grins at us. "But i just wanted to tell you that you did great. I will come back tomorrow then we will continue." Tobias nods while i smile and give her a thumbs up. She smiles at us and then leaves us alone.
"Well now that we are alone..." i start but in the next second tobias lips are on mine. I completly forget what i want to say and wrap my arms around his neck. He kneels on the bed next to me while our lips are glued together. My hand goes up to his hair and his lands on my upper back.
"I love you." He whispers between kisses. "I love you too." I whisper back. He smirks. "I love you three." I smile as well. "I love you four." He smirks wider. "I know you do." I laugh but it gets stiffled by his lips on mine again.
We keep kissing untill we both are out of breath.
We keep our foreheads together and breath in the same air. "I am glad i have you." I say and smile lightly. He smiles as well and pecks my lips again. "Me too."
