barely knew : two-bit

you smiled at two-bit's sister as she fell asleep in your arms. two and you were babysitting kathy tonight for his mother.

two smiled and picked up kathy before cradling the six year old in his strong arms. "i'm gonna bring her to her room." he stated softly earning a nod from you.

as he left, you couldn't help but lay down and fall asleep on the couch.

the next day two-bit and you sat in the curtis' house watching mickey with the guys. you all were waiting for dally to get here so you could head out to the rumble.

you were curled up into two-bit's side and he had an arm wrapped around your waist. you couldn't help but look up at his face as he watched mickey.

his rusty colored hair was combed in a complicated position with grease holding it that way. his lively grey eyes were watching the tv intensely and a huge smile was plastered on his face.

just seeing his smile made you smile. he just had that effect on people. that was the way two-bit matthews is. he was an amazing person that kept the world together and he never deserved to die.

you remember the night before how he wanted to go out with you and get drunk, but decided that he would help his mother out and baby sit his kid sister.

finally, dally came barreling into the living room and soda smiled before standing up.

"alright, let's go beat those socs." he said cracking his neck.

you walked up to the socs and stopped. dally ended up starting the rumble by punching the closest soc in the jaw.

everything that happened next went in slow motion. nobody was moving because they must of felt time slow down as well. the next thing you know, a soc had a gun pointed at your head and pulled the trigger. everyone screamed except two-bit who - unlike anyone else - pushed you out of the way.

he fell to the ground with blood rushing out of his stomach.

"keith, no!" you screamed as you scrambled to get over to him. all the socs muttered curses and the one who shot two-bit started running.

"you bastard!" you screamed at him. "you killed him!" tears streamed down your cheeks as you stood up, grabbed dal's gun out of his jacket pocket, and shot the soc in the 'area'.

you dropped back down next to two as all the greasers walked over to you. "please don't die." you sobbed into two's chest. "i love you two, forever." you whispered so the guys couldn't hear.

you sat up sobbing on the couch. you looked around hurriedly and calmed down a little when you realized you were in two-bit's living room.

you threw myself off the couch and ran to two's room. you pushed the door open and jumped on two-bit sobbing.

he woke up almost instantly. "love, what's wrong?" he asked you worriedly.

you quickly kissed his lips before sobbing once more into his neck. "i d-don't want to talk about i-it." you hiccuped.

"i love you, you know that?" he asked kissing the top of your head.

"i l-love you too." you stuttered before falling asleep in his arms.
