you remember the day that dallas' father showed up at the diner when the gang and you were there. dallas immediately went pale and slid under the table, being hidden by all of your legs. you all knew exactly who he was when he walked up to your table because he was splitting image of dallas.

"any of you know dallas winston?" he asked leaning on the back of your booth. his eyes were a dark blue and were bitter cold.

darry shook his head. "sorry." he muttered. you just rolled your eyes and stuffed a fry in your mouth. dallas' father scoffed and eyed johnny. you don't know why, but johnny seemed to grow uncomfortable.

"who's this little guy?" he asked leaning towards johnny. he didn't even have to do anything for you to jump up and slap him.

"back. off." you growled. "we don't have what you're looking for so you can be on your way now." he glared into your eyes before grunting and walking off.

when he was out of the diner, dallas slid back up into his seat next to Steve. "what happened?" he inquired looking at all of you.

"nothin' important." two-bit muttered shoving a fry in his mouth.

you watched the stars with a frown set on your face. you weren't sad, you were just bored and needed to go for a walk. a couple feet from your head, a leave crunched and you shot up to see who was there. the tension settled and your muscles relaxed when you realized it was just Dally.

"sit." you offered patting the spot next to you. he sighed and plopped down leaning against   the tree behind you. "what happened with you and your dad? why is he looking for you?" you inquired.

his eyes met yours and it was almost as if his walls fell down when his eyes met your own. a few tears fell down his cheeks as he looked at the ground. "i was born here in tulsa with my mom and dad. when i was seven my mom died of cancer and i had to spend the next few years with my dad. he became an alcoholic and would beat me. finally when i was old enough, i left and came here." he told you and pity immediately filled your chest. you wrapped your arms around him and pulled him into a hug as he laid his head on your chest.

"it's alright. he'll leave soon enough once he realizes he's not gonna find what he's looking for." you tried to sooth him.

"oh this is ridiculous!" steve barked as dal's father made his way up to the gate of the curtis' household.

"well, well. looks like you do know ole' dally." his father smirked as he eyed you all.

"get off my property and leave us alone." darry snapped, more annoyed than the rest if you. you couldn't blame him.

"awe it's the girl that slapped me." the man cooed, grabbing your arm and pulling you into him. the next thing you knew he had a knife to your throat. "c'mon dal, let's go." he grinned as a scowl made it's way to his face. all the boys' face immediately filled with fear.

"get your hands off her." soda growled. dally started walking towards his dad acting as if he was going with him.

"perfect." once dallas was next to him he threw you to the ground, tucking the knife back into his pocket. the next thing you knew, dally's father was on the ground and dallas stood above him with a deadly glare on his face.

"get off the property." he seethed. the man just stood up, brushed off his shoulders, and left. dal turned to you and held out his hand. he pulled you up once you grabbed it and the next thing you knew, his lips were on yours.
