you laughed lightly at sodapop's joke and slapped his shoulder gently."how's life doll?" dallas asked from the other couch. he had just gotten out of the cooler and normally checked up with you and johnny after not talking to you both for awhile.
"oh ya know, same old. no friends, good grades, tests, ponyboy ignoring me... nothing new." you grinned and winked at soda.
"ok fine! i will hang out with you, but don't get used to it." pony groaned and stood up, grabbing your wrist. he dragged you to his and soda's room before plopping down face-first on the bed and just lying there. a small mischievous smirk crawled onto your face before you jumped on his back, tackling him on the bed.
you immediately started tickling him and he laughed and squirmed under your hold.
he then grabbed your shoulders and flipped you over as you both started play wrestling. "you're a newbie!" you laughed at him.
"oh am i?" he smirked before pinning you to the bed. after several failed attempts to get out of his hold, you gave up and looked at him with a small smile.
"i win?" he clarified with a cocky smirk.
"you win." you sighed and laughed a little. he let your arms go and you reached over and grabbed one of his books off his dresser.
"red dragonfly?" you questioned looked over the cover and flipping some pages over.
"it's one of my favorites. i'm trying to get soda to read it but he's trying to keep his reputation up about 'never reading a book in his life'." pony concluded with a chuckle. you giggled a little and read the back.
"it sounds good. remind me to read it sometime." you told him with a wink.
"sure thing." pony laughed and lightly hit your shoulder.
