the wind blew through your hair as you walked down the sidewalk towards your house.

up ahead, you noticed a group of socs laughing next to their blue mustang. you sighed, realizing that you would have to walk past them to get to your house. before you could even get within twenty steps of them they were already targeting you.

"hey beautiful, where ya going?" one of them taunted. one walked right up to you, and grabbed your wrist tightly with a sickening smirk. next thing you knew, a boy with dark hair stepped in front of you. johnny cade.

a small smile tugged at your lips as he spoke. "what do you think you're doing?" he gritted out. the socs looked shocked and you were pretty sure you looked the same. the shy, timid johnny cade was actually back talking to socs.

he had an arm wrapped around your waist, and a glare was settled on his face. the socs immediately took that as a sign that he wasn't in the mood for games. they rolled their eyes before turning back to get into their car.

as soon as they were out of sight, johnny turned to you with a small frown on his face.

"you good, doll?" he asked.

you nodded. "thank you. my name's y/n."

he smiled. "i know. say, you wanna stick with me for a while longer?"

you pondered it. "that depends, are you gonna murder me?"

he chuckled. "nah."

"alright then." you declared. "let's go." with that, he lead you to the curtis' household.

a year later, johnny and you were the best of friends. nothing could separate you both. you were sitting on the porch of the curtis' household waiting for the gang to show up. you had developed major feelings for the boy and had wanted to tell him, but the fear of rejection halted your hopes.

yet suddenly, you felt a huge wave of confidence sweep over yourself and you turned to johnny. "hey johnnycakes?" you asked.

he turned his head to look at you and raised an eyebrow - a trait he had picked up from two-bit - before he decided to speak. "what's up?"

you took a shaky breath before blurting out the sentence you feared ever speaking out loud. "i really like you."

his eyes widened as his gaze became more soft. "really?"

you sighed. "yeah, i'm sorry. i unders-" but you were cut off when johnny pressed his lips to yours.

"i like you too." he mumbled before pulling you back into another kiss. his arms were wrapped around your waist as you tangled your hand in his hair. suddenly, a loud gasp interrupted you.

you pulled back only to see the gang there smirking - with the exception of sodapop.

soda was practically bouncing with excitement  with a huge smile on his face. "i called it!"

steve, however, was already completely over the situation. "whatta girl." he muttered.
