"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" We yelled at the same time then giggled after that.
Me and Allison have been doing this since we were 5. Suddenly I realized one thing. The mansion seems so deserted where you can only hear our heartbeat... Royal's too.
Allison must have noticed too. "Scarlett? I think we should go down to see what's going on."
I just nodded and start walking down the hallway towards the stairs. And the whole time Allison is gripping onto my right arm while Royal is pacing next to us. I would be lying if I say it doesn't hurt at all.
"What if there are ghosts down there?" Allison asked as we approached the stairs
"Seriously Allison? Don't tell me you believe in them. Well technically there are ghosts or else there won't have angels. But here in Heaven, there are no ghosts but angels. I mean are you stupid?" I said
"No, I'm not!"
"Then what is 9+10?" I snickered (A/N: I know that this joke is old, but hey it works right?)
She shot me the 'don't test me' glare, and that immediately got me to shut up.
As we reached the bottom of the stairs I look around the living room to find it empty and dark. Hmm, that's strange...
"Hello? Anybody there?" I called out.
Ok, this is getting extremely creepy. You know in the horror movies where that one person is just so stupid that he/she just keep walking deeper and deeper into the haunted house, then, in the end, they died.
Well, we are in that kind of situation. But instead of a haunting house, it's our own house. And we are not stupid just curious as we walked deeper into the living room.
Curiosity kills a cat. But cats have 9 lives right? It's a shame that they will relieve to have eight more lives to spend and make the same mistakes and to die again. Right now I have this dread feeling that I can't describe.
The living room feels cold and you can just feel the cold wind blow on the back of our necks, making the hair in the back of our neck raise. Wait? Cold wind in the summer? Weird.
As of now, Allison has been gripping me harder and harder, I'm sure it will leave a bruise. Even Royal is whining from time to time and is hiding between my foot whenever he got a chance to.
Am I the only one who is calm and brave now?
"Allison you know that you are older than me right. I'm supposed to be the one hiding, not you!"
"So what I'm just 2 minutes older than you!" She defended herself
I just rolled my eyes, she always uses that excuse. What a scaredy-cat
"I heard that," she said. Damn those mind reading abilities.
Right now were in the middle of the living room by the sofas, the lights are turned off. But with our night vision, it's okay.
"Is anybody here?" No response.
BANG!!
"SURPRISE!" Me and Allison turned around...
