Chapter 58: Ask me out?

Scarlett's pov:

"No"

"Why no?"

"Because I said so"

     I watched as Jaxon groan in frustration and run his hand through his hair. Since this morning Jaxon has been approaching me and trying to ask me out

     Of course, I turned him down. In fact, this is the fourth time that he was shot down. He would come up to me with different flowers and gifts hoping that he could convince me to change my mind

     Training just ended and Jaxon took the opportunity to ask me out again which I rejected just like right now. 

"I won't give up Scarlett. I did once and I regretted it, I will never give up on you now" I looked up to see Jaxon staring at me before walking away with his shoulder slumped.

     It's time. It's time for Jaxon to take over as alpha

"Thank you all for coming today" Uncle Daggers's voice boomed throughout the whole yard

"Not like we all have a choice. I would rather stay holed up in bed watching Netflix, but I know that you would force me to your son's ceremony even if it meant dragging me out of my heaven called bed" I mind linked him. I watched as he choked and aunt Daggers went up to pat his back. 

     After he managed to catch his breath, he ignored the worried looks that the pack were giving him and gave me a warning glare

"Stop whining will you? This day is going to come sooner or later. Before I knew you were Jaxon's mate, I wouldn't mind you missing out on this ceremony. But since we both know that isn't going to happen, then suck it up and accept your fate" 

     I scowled and crossed my arms. Allison and Crystal were standing next to me. We're more to the back of the crowd since I don't want Jaxon to see me. 

     I just want to be invisible... 

     I watched completely bored out of my mind when Jaxon, Alec, and Henry all received the passing down of ranks from the former beta, alpha, and third in command. 

     All traditional process that was invented by mom and the part I hated most... drinking the blood. Even though I'm part vampire, I still don't like drinking blood. I would drink animal blood to survive once in a while. It's not like Charlotte complained about it, she too doesn't like drinking from people.

     To the people out there, there is no need to fear us. We are extremely friendly

     They would drink the blood from the former ranks so that the power or something like that could flow through their veins or something.   

     I blame all my inner selves for not listening to mom when she was teaching.

"Sure blame it on us"  All my inner selves chorused and rolled their eyes at the same time.

     Creepy indeed.

     I zoned back just in time for the ceremony to come to an end. Jaxon, Henry, and Alec now all supported a tattoo on their upper right arm. 

     Before everybody was dismissed, Jaxon suddenly called for everybody's attention

"I would like to announce something" Jaxon suddenly said. What is he trying to do?

"As you all know that Scarlett is my mate" everyone nodded and some even turned around to look at me. 

     Oh no, you don't...

"She is not going to be my luna...yet"

     What is he trying to do?

"Scarlett!" Jaxon yelled from the stage. Resulting everyone to turn towards me

     I could feel my face heat from embarrassment, so I put my head down suddenly finding interest on the ground

     The grass is so green today... 

"Go out on a date with me!"

      My head shot up and I met with Jaxon stare. He looked at me with so much hope in his eyes. 

     People were chanting telling me to say yes. I swear I even heard someone yell at me to hurry the fuck up and say yes.

     Oh wait, that was Allison. WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE THINK THIS IS? AN PROPOSAL!? WHY DOES EVERYONE WANT ME TO SAY YES!

"If I say yes, would you stop bothering me?" I finally said. Everyone immediately shut up eager to hear the conversation. 

"Yes"

"Then I say yes"

     Jaxon looked like he won the lottery. He ran down from the stage and hugged me.

     I looked over his shoulder to see Allison and Crystal grinning at me and his parents with Henry giving me thumbs up.

"Be ready by 6 pm tomorrow" he whispered into my ear sending chills down my spine. He then released me and ran towards the packhouse. 

"That was very romantic" Crystal gushed walking towards me with a dreamy look on her face

     I stared at her like she had grown 2 heads

"Are you serious? How was that romantic? That is called taking advantage!"

"How so?" Allison joined in

"Think about it. Today is the day he is alpha."

"And?"

"And the fact that the whole pack is there. So him asking me out in front of everyone. I had no choice to accept it or else it would make me look bad" I grumbled stomping my feet

"Woah! Count it on Scarlett to think too much. Seriously Scar, if you think too much instead of following your first instinct, you would end up miserably. You should learn from me, since the last time I didn't trust my instinct during a test, I got the question wrong. From then on, I always trusted my first instinct" Allison said shaking her head as we started walking home

"But sometimes thinking too much could also be helpful" Crystal added kicking a rock sending it flying and hitting a car causing the alarm to go off. We hurriedly ran out of there before somebody saw us. 

"Now is not the time girls. Help me pick an outfit for tomorrow"

     We ran through the front door and up to my room. Royal trotted over and licked my face before running away again. 

"Let's pick shall we?" I said rubbing my hands and opened my closet door.
