Allison's pov:

We just sat there for a few more minutes after Scarlett dragged everyone out. Before she did I caught a glimpse of her smirking and not to mention the wink she sent Henry before shutting the door

The atmosphere is just too awkward. We are now seated next to each other on the couch all the while I desperately tried to avoid eye contact with him.

I'm so going to kill you later Scarlett!

"I ugh- how are you doing?" I mentally smacked myself.

Really? You just have to ask this question? Of course, he isn't doing well since you rejected him. It's just like pouring salt on a wound and squeezing lemon juice as a topping.

"At least you realized what you did," Mary said

"You just have to point it out do you?"

"It was your fault that we have to mateless" Trinity joined in

"Guys be patient! I will make this right once this war is over"

"You better," they all said in unison.

"Hello? Are you listening to me?" Henry said waving his hands in front of me

"Sorry, " I blushed. Great, I zoomed out on the wrong time "what were you trying to say again?" I asked

"As I was saying, you still owe me an explanation on why you rejected me."

"You don't understand. It's just a temporary rejection. I already told you to wait for me" I explained playing with my fingers.

I looked at him from the corner of my eye to see him rake his fingers through his hair. Sitting up on the couch he leaned towards me and placed his right arm behind the couch.

"You want me to wait! I have been looking for my mate since my birthday came. I already waited for you long enough!"

Scooting further away from him before I give in and tell him everything, I quickly came up a lie hoping he would buy it

"Calm down! You don't get it alright! I hate doing this too. But I have no choice. I'm just not ready yet..." at least it was half the truth.

I looked up and see Henry staring at me with no expression. I hate seeing him like this. If I do this wrong, then I would end up losing him. It scares me how one choice can change a person's future, whether it be good or bad.

I hate you, Scarlett, why do you have to leave me here alone with him? His parents still didn't know that I'm his mate. And I got Crystal to keep it as a secret. No one knew of us being mates, and I plan to keep it that way until I could finally tell him the truth.

"Postponing things aren't always the best decision" Scarlett's voice drifted into my mind before she blocked the mind link

Then it happened, he leaned in and placed his lips on mine before I could dodge it. My eyes widened and I stayed frozen. Henry brought me closer by the neck to deepen the kiss. The amount of sparks from where he touched me is too much to handle.

Breaking out from my shocked state, I put my hands on his chest and tried to shove him away. I repeatedly hit him against his chest and shove his shoulder. He, however, didn't move an inch, instead, he grabbed me closer by the waist and placed me on his lap. Each of my leg on either side of him straddling him.

Blushing at our position, I pulled my lips back and tried to move away. Grabbing my waist once again, my breath hitched in my throat. His eyes were flickering between black and brown.
