Military functions drove you crazy. You still attended most out of a sense of loyalty. The military had shaped you into the fearless man, I was proud to call mine. It gave you scars both invisible and visible. They were part of your family and the only kind I met, for a long time. Together we brushed off homophobic and racist comments. It was fine, not to say that they didn't hurt but we meant more to each other than they meant to us. Keeping our individuality even with this relationship made us, as a unit stronger. Your friends there understood that much at least.
