We stopped fostering after Gordon. He was the child who had been with us for the shortest time. Two weeks of pure hell for all involved, he was our last foster child. Gordon had the capability to be something brilliant. He was just too uncertain, neither of us knew where we stood with him. He was older than most two weeks before eighteen and he just wanted to get on with life. He never listened to us and enlisted in the army. We received a letter of his death a month later. You broke down and cried for the first time in years. We both couldn't do this anymore.
