I always played the news while doing work. The broadcast was stuck on a local channel that showed an accident on the highway. I recognised your car in the pile-up, not even bothering to look at the time or pack my desk up properly. I prayed harder than I ever remember praying. Time seemed to slip by and I could not keep up. I called your dad in a show of complete disregard for traffic rules. He kept talking ignoring the high charges and feeding me with hopes I could not believe anymore. I knew you were gone.
