"Roni calm down." Dylan rolls his eyes.

"I can't calm down! I'm leaving my home and my mom and my little brother!" I exclaim throwing my hands into the air.

"It's only New York. You'll have fun." He shrugs and looks back towards his phone.

"Are you even going to miss me?" I ask.

"Of course I'll miss you." He says and gives me a quick kiss to my cheek. I push him away in anger and stomp out of the room.

"Mom?" I yell as I enter the kitchen.

"Yeah?" She answers.

"Why are you making me go to New York? I don't want to live with Aunt June." I mumble.

"Well you don't have a choice. You either come with me to Japan or you go live with Aunt June." She sighs.

"But can't you just stay here?" I ask.

"No. It's my job Veronica." She says.

"Fine I hate you all." I announce as my brother looks up from the living room couch.

"I hate you too!" He yells back.

I run up to my room and start frantically packing everything I own. I had to have it packed by yesterday but I procrastinate so much. I start to grab things from my shelves and shove them into separate bags. This all has to fit into two bags because I'm flying across the stupid country.

"Roni can you please try to calm down?" Dylan asks me again.

"Shut up before I shove you into a bag and throw you out my window." I turn to him angrily.

"It'll work out I promise, long distance is hard but we can do it." He smiles. Does he think I'm stressed about him? I just pretend that's what I was thinking. It's better to just go along with it than to call him out.

"I know." I say and put my jeans into a bag. It's October and I doubt it'll be warm and sunny in New York during fall time.

"My flight is at 7pm so I should probably leave now." I tell him.

"Okay let me drive you." He suggests. I only nod and place my bags on the floor. Everything has been moved into my moms new house in Tokyo. My bedroom things have already been moved to New York. The room is so bare. All that is here is my hangers in the closet, shelves on the walls and a sleeping bag.

"I'm going to say goodbye to my mom and Henry." I excuse myself and leave him alone in my room. I go downstairs and see my mom and brother playing cards on the floor.

After lots of tears and goodbyes, we are driving to the airport. He's being extremely awkward and quiet. I don't know what's wrong with him today, he's usually so talkative. Sometimes it gets very annoying.

"Bye." He says and kisses me before leaving the airport. That was a bit rude but I'll let it slide. I suppose it's hard for him too. I can't expect him to be fine with me moving across the country.

The flight is long and dreadful. The seats were uncomfortable and the people were unpleasant. I hate flying anyways so I guess it wasn't the most awful experience I've had. When the flight is over, my aunt is waiting for me at the gates. It's about midnight now so I'm tired and ready to sleep.

"Oh my goodness. How long has it been? 5 years?" She asks hugging me.

"Yeah Aunt June, it's been 5 years." I nod and wrap my arms around her.

"Well why don't we get going, Daisy is waiting at home." She tells me. Daisy is my 15 year old cousin. That makes me 2 years older than her, but we used to be very close. We haven't talked in years so I assume we aren't as close as we used to be.

The way to her apartment is lovely. We take a cab since she lives in the city. All the buildings are so tall and beautiful. The city is lit up because it's night time. I've never been to New York City because they lived in New York State last time I visited.

The apartment is small but you can tell this is a wealthy family. There are 3 rooms and two bathrooms. The only people living in the house are Aunt June, Cara and now me so that's a good amount of space.

"This is your room." Daisy tells me throwing my bags onto the full-sized bed. I nod and look around.

"By the way, we have school tomorrow." She adds before leaving the room. I groan before climbing into bed and falling asleep instantly.
