Amelia Greene's Pov
"I can't believe I got 19 out of 100 in maths, I swear I did well." Hannah pouted as she opened her front door and entered with me following closely behind her.
"I'm sure you tried Han." I tried to sooth her. She gave me a nod and sighed heavily.
"Mum, I'm home." Hannah yelled as we walked further into her house.
We heard a footsteps and than Grace came to our view. She grinned widely as soon as she saw me.
"Amy I didn't knew you were coming." She engulfed me in a hug before I can reply. "You don't visit us anymore though you are welcome here anytime." She let go and of me.
"I will." I smiled brightly at Grace.
"Are you planning to spent the night here?" Grace asked when she saw my backpack. But before I could reply Hannah beat me to it.
"No mum, Am is here to help me in maths."
"Oh that's good." Grace smiled brightly looking at me. "Please teach her well because she is terrible at maths." I chuckled at her comment while Hannah glared at her mum.
"I'm feeling so loved mum." Hannah murmured pouting like a spoiled child.
"I know baby, I know." Grace patted her cheek twice in a loving manner but with a teasing smile. Hannah huffed at her response.
"Okay than study well, I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything." Grace smiled one last time before turning around and walking back to where she came from.
"I hate maths." Hannah growled stomping her foot.
"Because you are bad at it?" I asked smiling at her annoyed reaction.
"Yes." She grumbled.
"But since I'm gonna be tutored by you who was the second highest scorer in maths test, I'm sure I'll be fine." At her words my shoulders dropped in defeat. I can't believe someone beat me in maths.
And also it was just not someone.
"Are you still upset that you came second?" Hannah asked, I quietly made my way into her living room and dropped my bag at the foot of the coffee table, I settled myself on her couch.
"No, it's not that." I shook my head and Hannah occupied the space beside me.
"Than?" She raised an eyebrow at me in question.
"I can't believe he was the highest scorer in maths." I said my voice lacing in disbelief as I still can process that he scored the highest in maths.
"Well, me too but I guess we learn a lesson that, 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'." Hannah quoted.
I can't believe Zander was so good at maths. He was the highest scorer in maths. He got full marks and it's kinda unbelievable.
And just to clear my doubt I even checked his paper, and was shock to find that he didn't make a single mistake in his answer. He got everything correct while I had some mistakes in my sums and I got only 95.
"Yeah but I never expect that from him."
"To tell you the truth, I kinda expected this. Not that he would score the highest in maths but that he is not how he portrays himself to be and there's more to him." Hannah words rang in my ear.
'There's more to him'
I've ways felt that but I didn't knew Hannah too felt like that. I guess my conscious wasn't so wrong at last.
