It is a Weasley tradition every year to to play Elf on the Shelf. It is a game that leads up to Christmas, where a little toy elf is hidden in their house. Whoever finds it earns a point.

"I've found it!" Cried Lily, running into the room. "He's on the ceiling fan! I've found him!"

Ginny walked over and fixed her daughter's hair.

"Good job, lovebug. Now he needs to hide again. Everyone turn around."

All the Weasley/Potter children obeyed.

"I'll hide him, Aunt Ginny," Alice Longbottom said.

"Okay, thank you. James, go with her."

"But if I find it, then you will blame me for cheating!"

"Just come on, James. I'll hide it," Alice said.

"I'm not going to cheat!"

"Well at least close your eyes."

"Why? Do you not trust me?"

Alice took a step closer to him.

"So you won't feel tempted to take it."

James barely noticed his mother looking at his father and smiling.

"Oh, alright then," James smiled at Alice.

She grabbed his hand and smiled when he intertwined their fingers.

Alice led him upstairs to the very top of the Burrow. They were alone now.

She just put the elf in a closet.

James still had his eyes closed.

Alice had had a crush on James since she was a little girl. She stepped closer to him. She wanted to kiss him so badly. She took another step closer right as he opened his eyes.

"It's hidden." She said quickly and backed away. Ali was almost out the door when James grabbed her wrist, pulling her back in.

In just seconds, their lips had met.

"Don't go anywhere just yet," he said as he pulled her closer, running his hands through her hair. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed herself even further into him.

He deepened the kiss, entering his tongue into her mouth. Up until now, he had never even kissed a girl before. James believed that Quidditch should get priority above any girl.

Except Alice. She made him feel...

He didn't have words for it. But holding her here, he knew that this was meant to last.

After minutes that only felt like seconds, Alice pulled away.

"We should go back," she said with a smile. She opened the door, but James closed it and pulled her back in, pressing her to the wall.

"Just one more minute..."
