Squids Strike

Chapter 2

Jolene's P.O.V.

I woke up to the sound of 2 horses and a donkey walking down the road. I listened and heard they weren't farmers horses, or messenger horses. These horses were different. I opened my door slightly and looked through the trees.

What I was made me jump. There was a golden coloured horse, with a man wearing an outfit that was grey and black, and sunglasses. all I could see was his side, but I knew who it was. It was the king of the Budder Kingdom.

There was somebody else there, but I couldn't see them. I did sense that they had magical powers tho.

I closed my door and lean against it. It's been a couple of days since I heard that he were coming, and I was starting to think that it was just a lie. Now I know it wasn't.

I rushed through my morning routine, and grabbed all of my stuff before racing out the door. I made sure I looked nice, despite my condition of living. As I had gotten ready I had heard another horse, and some other creatures going down the path. It must be the Snow Princess!

As I walked down the road to the town I fixed my mask. I still couldn't believe it. They were really here!

I managed to make it into the town without a fight, but I know that if I try to get close to see them I would get thrown out of the town. All I wanted was to see them.

When I made it to the town square I saw them on their horses, elevated above the crowd. They were by the fountain. That was my favourite spot to sit because everyone would leave me alone terrified that I might attack them with the water. Seriously! I'm not joking! It's kinda funny really.

I saw them along with another who gave out waves of magic energy. He must be their sorcerer. The sorcerer, wore black and purple clothes, that had a red creeper face on the front. Interesting. He had brown hair, and a white crown like thing. I couldn't see his eyes. I was to far away. The sorcerer sat on his horse talking to the Snow Princess.

The Snow Princes, also known as the Snow Girl, was mostly snow, but she still had a human head. She had brown hair that covered one of her eyes. she wore red earmuffs, and a matching red scarf.

Then there was the Budder King. Like I said before, he wore a suit that was grey and black. He had dark brown hair, and even if I got closer I doubt I would be able to see the colour of his eyes. His sunglasses were still on, and while looking at him this time, I saw he wore an amulet. It was made of gold and an amethyst. He sat on his horse scanning the crowd. I wonder why?

I didn't have to wait long to get my answer. I was standing at the back of the crowd with my back facing the main entrance to the town. People around me looked over their shoulders, and made a small path right in front of me. Something didn't add up. That is, until I felt somebody tap on my shoulder.

I jumped and tuned around. My hand fell to the hilt of my sword, but I quickly dropped it when I saw a man around the same age as the Budder King standing there. He had brown hair covering his left eye, his other eye was uncovered, so I could see that it was a dark purple colour. He had a black headset that had green on the sides. He wore a white v-neck T-shirt, and black pants. "Umm... Excuse me please." He said.

"Sorry." I mumbled. I took a step back, and dropped my gaze as he walked past with his horse, followed by others. When they had pasted me the crowd gave me nasty glares before going back to what the were doing before, and closing off the path.

When I lifted my head up, and looked back towards the fountain I saw the Snow Princess's face light up with surprise and joy. She hopped off of her horse and gave the guys that had just pasted me hugs.

Realization hit me. They must be from team crafted! One of the guys of team crafted had actually talked to me, and he wasn't mean like everybody else! this was the best day of my life!

To bad I didn't have anybody to tell. My friends were avoiding me since last time we were together we almost got caught. I didn't want them to be outcasts too.

Suddenly I heard screaming. I saw team crafted looking around too. They also heard it. I turned to the source of the sound. It was coming from behind me. I gasped at the sene before me.

A little kid was running down the street towards the crowd, away from a massive amount of squids. Behind me I heard team crafted calling for people to move so they could get through. The wouldn't make it in time to save the kid.

I ran at the squids, drawing my sword and roaring. I jumped, I can jump far when I want to. A squid started to grab the kid, so I swung swung my sword in in an arc above my head on my way down.

As I landed I sliced the squid in half. I turned the kid. "Are you okay?" I asked them. They nodded and rubbed tears away from their eyes. "Go find your parents." I instructed them. They turned and ran into the crowd.

After I saw them disappear, I turned back to the squids, raising my sword as I did so. I'm glad I did because one of the squids had launched itself towards me. Instead of hitting me like it planed, it ended up sliced in half.

I jumped into the fray of squids. They attacked me, but I fought back. I hacked and slashed every which way. It was no used they kept coming.

One squid latched onto me in a place I couldn't reach. They crawled their way up to beside my ear and said, "Give us team crafted, and nobody gets hurt." I growled at them, thrusting my sword over my shoulder stabbing it.

The squids kept coming. I had gotten stuck with my back to a wall. All I had was enough room to swing my sword. I took a quick glance around the town square. Squids were everywhere, and the only other people to see were the rest of team crafted. People had fled indoors when squids started to get past me.

I turned my attention back to the squids attacking me, but I turned back to look around the town square when I heard multiple cries from team crafted. I watched as all of them fell, except for the Budder King, and the Snow Princess. They fought back to back, but I saw that they were going to need help.

I jumped over all of the squids over to their sides. They excepted my help without second thought, and we fought together.

Eventually the squids gave up on us, and left the town with the rest of team crafted. They screamed and struggled, but they couldn't escape. All we could do is watch as they disappeared.

Without the adrenalin we became weak. Either way we would have had to give into the squids if the kept fighting us.

We slipped to the ground as the town people started to leave the buildings they had hidden in. I was so tired I couldn't stop myself from falling asleep.
