Chapter 4
Jolene's P.O.V.
It was sometime around midnight, and I was half asleep when I felt something slimy crawl onto me. "You may have survived last time, but tonight you shall die!" A voice gurgled. A squid! So if you can't tell by now, I can understand mobs.
Knowing what was coming, I rolled. I felt the squid fall off of me. I used that time to grab my sword. I turned around feeling the sword slid out of it's sheath. I could see perfectly well seeing as I have night vision. I saw the squid trying to sneak up on me by sliding in zigzags across the floor, a dagger in it's grasp. Little did it know what it was in for.
I jumped over it landing silently. I had turned in midair, so that wasn't a problem. I saw it squirming around confused by where I had gone. I smirked.
I quietly walked over to where it was. I put my foot on it, and stared deep into it's eyes. I saw hatred, anger, and fear there. "Say goodbye." I told it before my sword pierced through it's heart. It gurgled a death cry, before it fell into an eternal slumber.
I grabbed my bow, quiver, and my mask. I put my sword back in it's sheath, and held my bow firmly. I walked to the door, and drew an arrow, just in case. I opened the door quickly, swinging out into the hall way. Nothing was out there.
I walked to the nearest door. I could hear noise coming from inside. I burst through the door, arrow loaded. In the room Olivia was fighting to keep the squid's blade from her throat. "Die traitor!" The squid screamed.
The squids blade inched closer to Olivia's throat. It was now or never. I sighted and shot. The arrow flew across the empty space, and buried itself deep into the squids body. The squid's now lifeless body fell off of Olivia with the impact of the arrow fired from such a short distance.
She looked at the doorway and smiled when she saw me. I nodded in her direction to show her I saw.
I slowly made my way back into the hallway, Olivia following with a sword I had never seen before. We both jumped when we heard a scream. I would have laughed at my terror, but the situation is serious, and there is no time for that.
An arrow practically flew to my bow, my reflexes were fast. I looked at Olivia and we both knew what to do.
We took off running to the room the scream had resonated. We needed to get to Sky.

I had felt something plop down on me. I had never expected to see what lay on me to be there. A fowl, and evil squid was sitting on me. "Hey! Budder boy you will come with me so I can kill you in front of your friends. After your dead we'll kill them, but they need to see you gone before they go, just to make it hurt. Now be a good boy and come freely." It hissed. I shivered.
I couldn't stop myself from screaming. "Don't waste your breath. Your friends are dead by now, my friends have killed them." It sneered. It had to be wrong. There was no way in the world that Olivia and Jolene were dead, they were both amazing fighters.
I found out I was right when the door burst open. Olivia came in first with her sword of ice ready for the squids blood. Jolene wasn't far behind her, but instead of having her sword like I had seen her use before, she had a bow aimed towards me and the squid. I hope she's a good shot. "Guys!" I exclaimed happily.
"How?!" The squid cried. It didn't have much time to question it before Olivia jumped at it. It jumped, so her sword barely missed me. I saw Jolene snap into action.
She moved at the waist so she was pointing at the squid, and let go of the arrow about as fast, or faster than I've seen Mitch do it.
The arrow hit the squid and pinned it to the wall farthest away from the door. It wasn't dead yet, but it would be soon. "You'll regret this." The squid said weakly.
"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes. The squid shrieked and died.
Jolene turned towards me and Olivia. "Your welcome. That makes that 3 squids I killed tonight. That means I got them all." She declared proudly.

"Look." Sky said. "I'm sorry about yesterday. I didn't think before I spoke." I wanted so bad to yell at him. To express how angry he had made me, but I knew that wouldn't get us anywhere. He was royalty and he was giving an apology to me, an outcast, when the world thought royalty could do no wrong and therefor should never apologize. I should feel privileged.
"That is behind us. We cannot change the past. Let us put that behind us, and move on." I spoke calmly.
Olivia stood up. "She's right. We should talk about this in the morning." Then she took her sword and stabbed her shoulder. I winced. I was surprised when she pulled out just a stick.
"Come on!" She urged me as she walked towards me and the door. "Let's leave Adam to his beauty rest!"
As we walked out the door I giggled. "Why do you call Sky, Adam?" I asked the question that had been bugging me.
"It's a long story, and I'm tired. Maybe I'll tell you some other time." She replied. Seeing that I wasn't satisfied by her answer she patted my back. Her touch felt cold, I don't get how I didn't see that coming, but I just didn't. "Look we need sleep. Go to bed."
I sighed, but I complied. I was feeling a bit tired. I left her outside her door, and shuffled to my room. Maybe I'll get some answers tomorrow.
