Chapter 7

Olivia's P.O.V.

We had been riding for a few hours and the sun had sunk down towards the east. By the looks of it we still had an hour or 2 before it got completely dark. We were currently riding down a path through a forest.

I looked up to see Jolene flying not to far ahead of us a fair ways up. It still amazed me that she could do that.

"She's quiet something isn't she?" Sky said. I jumped. We had been riding in quiet for so long that I hadn't expected him to say something.

"What'd ya mean?" I asked.

"I mean that she's lived by herself from such a young age, with all that hate of the townsfolk, and yet she stays as strong as she does. Also her powers! Those are amazing!" He said.

"You only like them because she made her scales the colour of budder." I teased him. He rode closer to me, and lightly punched me on the shoulder. "Hey!" I pretended to be hurt.

"Guys look out!" Jolene called from above us. I looked to see her diving down towards us. "AMBUSH!" She yelled. I looked around to see what she meant and saw squids among the trees.

I barely had enough time to pull out my sword before they reached us.

(NOOOO! I JUST HAD PART OF AN AWESOME FIGHT SCENE WRITTEN OUT! NO IT'S GONE! AHHHHH! IGZITSGGDVUEGBH!)

Jolene's P.O.V.

I glided through the air. I was looking ahead of the others, scanning the road and forest for any signs of danger. I saw Olivia and Sky both look up at me, and then do something else. I smiled.

I was distracted by them that I almost didn't see the squid ambush hidden in the trees. When I did see it tho I instantly folded my wings to me, and used my tail to guide me through the air. "Guys look out!" I called. I saw Olivia look up at me. Thank goodness I can have a loud voice when I need to. "AMBUSH!" I yelled.

Sky's hand instantly flew down to the hilt of his golden sword, or as he likes to call it, his budder sword. Olivia looked around. She must have seen the squids because she got out her sword. It still creeped me out that the sword came from her shoulder, but I think I'm starting to get used to it. They both managed to have their swords out by the time the squids had descended upon them. I smirked, little did the squids know I was defending on them.

I drew my sword and spread my wings. I slashed at squids as I flew upright again. Squids jumped and grabbed onto my legs, so I flew up into the air. They couldn't hope on forever.

When I got to a height that they could die of fall damage from, I kicked my legs around, and swung my sword at them. One by one the squids fell, dieing the second they hit the ground. Some of the squids fell and landed on other squids, killing both of them instantaneously.

I sheathed my sword, and pulled out my bow and an arrow. Don't ask how I still have arrows after diving head first at the ground, it's complicated to explain. I shot at the squids, arrow after arrow, until I had thinned out the amount by a bit.

I saw Olivia and Sky both easily able to defend themselves on their horses. I smile and put my bow back. I unsheathed my sword again, and dove.

I landed on my feet, and the squids made a circle around me. They were just out of reaching distance. I smirked at them and divided I would have some fun.

I changed my dragon type to fire, since water wouldn't do anything to them, and breathed fire at them. I managed to scorch the squids closest to me. I then changed into a frost/ice dragon. I covered a few more squids in ice so the couldn't move, then I jumped to them and chopped them in half.

After that the squids ran. The were no match for us.

Olivia rode over to me and smiled as she looked at my armour, mask, wings, and tail. "Nice!" She said.

"Don't you mean cool?" Sky called from where he was wiping squid ink off of his sword. I rolled my eyes and we all burst out laughing.
