Chapter 12

Jolene's P.O.V.

Brave jumped on Star when we got back to the horses. I laughed at her surprise when he landed on her back. "Not funny!" She neighed angrily at me.

"Ya, ya. Whatever." I said putting my saddlebags on her.

I turned to look at the others to see Sky and Olivia had put their saddles on their horses, and were now climbing on them. Flame leaned against the rock wall of the cave, just inside its mouth. "What about me?" She asked.

"I could carry you while I fly." I suggested.

"Are you sure that it's safe?" She asked worriedly.

I shrugged. "No clue. Never tried it before." I replied. This only made her more nervous. I guess that was the wrong thing to say. I need to work on my people skills now that I'm with people who don't hate me. "How about I fly you down the mountain and we can see what we wanna do from there."

"I guess." She shrugged. Seeing as we got that out of the way I turned to the others who were sitting on their horses.

"Any of you remember the way back down?" I asked. Both Sky and Olivia shook their heads no.

Star flicked her ears and nickered, "I do!" She probably would have reared onto her back hooves, but I could tell she didn't want to throw Brave off.

"Okay then! You guys follow Star down, and I'll fly Flame down!" I declared.

Flame walked over to me. "Let's get this done and over with." She muttered.

"I heard that!" I said. She smiled.

"LET'S GO!" I yelled grabbing her after my wings and tail appeared. I jumped off the edge of the cliff and started to fall. Flame screamed because instead of spreading my wings and starting to fly away from the cliff I just kept them folded as I used my tail to control the direction we were heading.

Only when we were nearing the bottom of the cliff did I spread my wings. I used them to fly away from the mountain a little and then land safely a little ways down the path.

I let go of Flame and took a few steps back. I barely noticed when my wings and tail disappeared because it sounded like Flame had started to cry.

I took a step towards her before I realized that she was actually laughing. I smiled.

"Hey." I said taping on her shoulder. "Lets go wait by the trees for the slowpokes to get here. She turned around with a big smile on her face, and we both walked over to the trees.

Flame sat down and leaned against a tree. I was surprised not to see any fire after what I knew about her from being in the nether. Fireballs from her hands.

I walked over to the tree beside the one she was at. Before sitting down I had a strange feeling.

I felt like we were being watched.

I spun around in a quick circle to see if I could see anyone. The only person I saw was Flame who I startled with my quick motion.

I shrugged it off and curled up on the ground between 2 tree roots. Ya. Dats right. I curled up. You got a problem with that?

Anyways, no matter how hard I tried to ignore it, the feeling of being watched didn't disappear. Something or someone was watching.
