Chapter 3
Jolene's P.O.V.
I woke up in a bed. Sunlight came in through the window. Wait! My shack doesn't have windows! Maybe I added them yesterday, but I just forgot. I snuggled further down into the soft bed. My bed isn't soft! It's hard and lumpy!
I sat up. My head spun at the sudden motion. I ignored it, and looked around the room. The walls were a beautiful shade of sky blue. Everything else in the room went along with the blue theme. My favourite colour is blue, so I didn't have a problem with it, until I saw once shade of blue that made me remember yesterday's events.
I got up out of the bed to look for other people, I smiled when I saw I was still in my armour. Before I went anywhere I realized that I didn't have my mask on. I looked around the room, and saw it on the bedside table along with my weapons. I'm glad I never leave home without these things. If I hadn't yesterday, well... I don't want to think about it.
I left the room after making sure I had everything. I walked down the hallway, and found my way to a dinning hall. I walked inside to a sight I wasn't prepared for.
The Budder King and the Snow Princess sitting at the table eating and talking like nothing had happened yesterday. The looked up from their food when the door closed behind me. I had to keep myself from laughing when I saw the Budder King had chipmunk cheeks that were full of food.
Seeing my discomfort the Snow Princess motioned for me to sit next to her. I did as told, not wanting to upset these important people.
We sat there in an awkward silence as I grabbed something to eat, and the Budder King swallowed his food.
"So, umm... Hi." The Snow princess said breaking the silence.
"Hi." I mumbled back.
"Wha? I can't hear you!" The Budder King exclaimed loudly, making sure he made lots of racket.
"Hi!" I said more confidently. They smiled.
So I'm Sky, and this is Olivia!" The Budder- No! Wait! Sky said. I nodded my head in understanding. "You don't talk much do ya?" Sky asked.
"Adam!" Olivia said irritated. "She just met us! What do you expect?" Sky looked taken aback. "Sorry about him. He can be a but sometimes." Olivia smiled.
"It's okay." I replied. "I'm just not used to talking to people." They both gave me confused looks. "I'm an outcast, nobody has wanted to talk to me in a long time." I explained. They gave me sympathetic looks.
"Where'd you learn to fight like that?" Sky asked changing the subject.
"I taught myself." I said a little proudly.
"Really?" He asked. I nodded my head. He mouthed the word wow, and turn back to his breakfast.
Suddenly Olivia said, "Piiiiig!" Sky replied by swallowing and then making pig noises. I couldn't help myself. I laughed. I noticed Olivia and Sky were laughing to, with the exception of Sky stoping to make more pig noises. After every time a new bought of laughter came on, until we ran out of breath. These guys were great!
We ate and talked until we finished the food. I hadn't eaten like that in a long time. Even after the food was gone we continued to talk. "So, I didn't catch your name." Olivia said.
"It's Jolene." I grinned. I was in a great mood.
"Hey Jolene, could you explain how you could jump like that yesterday?" Sky asked.
"Well..." I started. Should I tell them? They're trust worthy I guess. "I have powers." They looked at me surprised.
"What kind of powers?" Olivia asked.
"Well you kinda have to see..." I trailed off.
"Then let's go!" Sky declared jumping out of his seat, and pointing to the sky. I giggled. He had no idea.
We made our way outside to a training area behind the building we were in. I blinked in surprise. We were just in the guest wing of the town hall.
I don't have much time to dwell on the fact as Sky and Olivia had started walking out to the centre of the field. "Just to warn you, my powers are... different from others."
"Try us." Sky said. "We know a sorcerer and a baca. I think we'll be able to handle it." I sighed.
I let my wings and tail appear. You see, I'm able to make them appear and disappear whenever I want. They gawked at me as I spread my wings and flicked my tail. They were both royal blue, just like my armour and mask. "Told ya." I muttered.
"Y-you're an enderdragon hybrid?!" Sky asked.
"No I'm not!" I huffed. "I'm a monster! I'm different! I shouldn't exist!" Tears started to slid down my cheeks. Nobody understood me! Why did I trust these guys?!
I jumped up and flew onto the roof of the town hall. I ignored them yelling at me to come down, and the stares I was getting from the townspeople. I took my mask off and started to cry. Why did I trust them of all people? Why did I trust strangers when the people I grew up with didn't even understand me?! I curled my wings around me as I cried, so nobody would see my melt down, though it was probably really obvious.

"Y-You're an enderdragon hybrid?" Adam asked. I could tell Jolene wasn't, and that she didn't like the question.
"No I'm not!" She huffed. "I'm a monster! I'm different! I shouldn't exist!" She was crying now.
Without warning she jumped into the air and flew onto the top of the town hall. "Way to go Adam!" I yelled. "You just upset her!"
"I-I didn't mean to!" Adam replied.
"Well maybe next time think before accusing someone of being something, when it's clear as day they're not!" I was angry at him. He had just made Jolene upset. I didn't really know her, but she was nice, and she must have had a hard life being an outcast. "Jolene come back down!" I yelled. "Adam was just being stupid!" I turned to Adam to see him giving me an expression of fake hurt.
"I'm sorry Jolene! I didn't mean to hurt you! I wasn't thinking!" He yelled turning to her. "Please come down!" Instead of listening to us, she wrapped her wings around herself.

I don't know how long I've been up here for. All I know is that it's starting to get dark out. I took a sniff, and smelt something delicious. It must be supper time.
I walked over to the edge of the building and jumped off, keeping my wings tight to me so I would speed towards the ground. Then, at the last possible second I spread my wings, and swooped upwards. I landed neatly on my feet, and let my wings and tail disappear.
I walked back inside. I went straight to the dinning room. I was a little hungry so I decided to grab a snack. I never really ate a lot, so breakfast had set me up for almost the whole day.
I walked in ignoring Sky and Olivia. I quickly grabbed an apple and hurried out of the room.
I ran down the hallway to my room, and locked the door behind me. I sat on the bed and sighed. I would have to do something about this soon. I couldn't spend my whole life avoiding people, or could I?
I got ready for bed and laid down. Life was hard.
