Katelyn POV

"Hey baby how was school?" I asked as Kaylie got into the car. She shrugged and sat in the car, she looked really upset. I gave a confused look. I put the car in park and looked at her. "What's wrong?" She shrugged. Yep, something as definitely wrong. "What happened Kaylie?"

"I'm struggling in math." I raised my eyebrows. It had been three weeks since school was in, she was struggling already? Especially in math? I leaned back a bit.

"Did you tell Mr. Schmidt?" She shrugged again.

"He wouldn't care." Oh yes he will. I pulled into a parking spot. I will talk to him everyday if I have to, whatever I have to do for my kid.

"I'm gonna talk to him."

"No Mom, don't." I shook my head and got out the car. I heard her sigh as I got out. I went into the school and straight to his classroom. I busted through his door. He looked up at me, with a fake smile.

"How nice to see you, Katelyn." I crossed my arms.

"My daughter is struggling in math." He raised his eyebrows and leaned against his desk.

"Oh?" He smirked a little, his ego was just getting bigger and bigger every time we talked. "I thought you said she was, gifted?" No. He. Didn't.

"Of course she is, she's very smart. I think you just want to test her skills to the max, you probably gave her some ridiculous ass problems that not even you could solve." He stood up.

"Um, first of all, I can solve any problem that's thrown at me, second of all, I don't think that's very nice of you to accuse me of challenging your daughter to the max, just so I could see her crash and burn." Bullshit.

"She said she feels that you won't help her." He shrugged.

"Never asked, so how was I to know she needed help?"

"Why are your students feeling that you won't help them if they are struggling?" He chuckled.

"I think that's just your daughter." I scoffed.

"You told me right off that you didn't care for these kids." He laughed and shook his head. I have never seen a person that really had no interest in helping their students. Why was he a teacher in the first place? "Why did you become a teacher, if you don't mind me asking?" He looked at me, like he was studying.

"It doesn't matter."

"Yes it does because it surely wasn't to make brighter futures for your students." I looked at him intensely. He pointed to me.

"You're right on that one." I was going to say something but he put his hand up, signaling that more bullshit was about to come out of his mouth. "I have seen that I live on that same street as you and Kaylie-."

"Wait really?" He muttered.

"Unfortunately," I glared and he rolled his eyes, "as I was saying, if Kaylie is struggling, then she can come over my house, or I could go to your house and I will help her as much as possible." I narrowed my eyes.

"Ok...I'm holding you to this." He put his right hand over his heart.

"I promise. I don't want you to kick my ass." I chuckled. He wasn't so dumb after all.

"Alright, you can come over our house. 5:30, tonight. I assume you're free because it doesn't look like you spend anymore time than you have to here." He walked closer to me.

"That's something you are right on."

******

There was a knock on the door. I looked at the time, 5:29, hmm, he really did make sure he was on time. I opened and it was of course him. He smiled and he was in his relaxing wear, he had a black shirt on, gray sweat pants and black skater sneakers.

"Hi." He waved a bit.

"Hi, can I come in?" I looked at him and titled my head, he raised his eyebrows.

"I suppose." He put up two thumbs and walked in, immediately judging my house. I rolled my eyes behind him.

"Nice place you got here, very homely." I leaned against the wall and watched him look at everything.

"Kaylie!" I yelled, she was upstairs. She came down prepared with her notebook and the problems she was struggling with. She smiled at Kendall and he nodded at her.

They went into the dining room and Kaylie showed him the problems she was struggling with and he showed her the way like he had done them a million times. He showed her tricks and shortcuts so she didn't have to go through all the steps. He truly was a mathematician.

"So, that's all you have to do?" She asked him with doubt in her eyes. He nodded.

"Yeah, basically." She nodded slowly then smiled up at him. She was beyond happy now that she knew what she was doing, I could just see it in her.

"Thanks for helping me." He shrugged.

"I like you better than all my other students anyway." She chuckled and I shook my head. She got up her stuff and went upstairs to put them away.

"Would you like to stay for dinner?" He looked at me with a surprised expression. Yeah, I would've looked at myself the same way. He shrugged.

"I mean, I shouldn't-."

"I insist." He smiled and nodded.

"Ok. Then I will." A few minutes later I brought out the food and we began eating. Small talk was made around the table, nothing too major. Kaylie got up early and went to get ready for bed.

"So, how's your school year going so far?" He sat back in the chair.

"These three weeks so far haven't been bad, no one causing trouble in my class, so that's a plus." I nodded. "What do you do for work, if you don't mind me asking?"

"I am a fashion designer." He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Really? Wow. I knew it though."

"Yeah right." He chuckled and sat up.

"Seriously, I could tell. Just by the way you dress every time I see you, no detail is left unnoticed. Everything's put together just nicely." I smirked. He was noticing the way I dress? Hmm.

"So, you've been watching how I dress?" He bit his lip and looked at me.

"I wouldn't say watching, but just observing how you make everything look so good on you." My eyes widened a bit. He thought I looked good in everything? Man, he had some charisma. My cheeks went red. He chuckled.

"I didn't mean to make you blush, it was merely just a harmless heartfelt compliment, nothing more. Nothing less."

Hope you liked it. Until Next Time.
