Sorry about the lack of updates. My bad. Enjoy.
Kendall POV
I was in my classroom grading papers. I had been staying way later than usual and I was not liking it. Maybe I shouldn't assign so many tests.
"F, F, B, C, F, F." Man, there were so many F's in my class. I mean, usually, when the entire class basically fails, there is something wrong with the test, but I help them as much as I can! They're just so lazy and don't wanna do anything, that it's affecting their performance in my class.
I heard my door open and I looked up. I looked up, annoyed, it was Kaylie. My face softened a bit and I put my papers aside.
"Kaylie, do you need a ride home or something?" She shook her head and sat in the chair in front of my desk. I wonder what she wanted, she never really came into my room except for class and if she needed a ride home.
"The test you gave back to me. It says C, but you didn't really even teach anything on the test." That's a got damn lie. I gave them all the instruction they needed, I gave them a study guide showing what was going to be on the test. What more did this girl want?
"That's not true, I gave you guys instruction and a study guide." She threw her hands up.
"Kendall, the only person you care about in this class is me and I didn't even do good. Your instruction wasn't very good, as for the study guide, all we have to do is fill it out and then the next day, we forget it." I leaned back and crossed my arms. I never had anyone tell me my instruction sucked.
I nodded and sighed. I went around my desk and pulled up a chair to sit next to Kaylie. I looked at her and then put my hand on her shoulder. Even though I disagreed with her greatly, I had to go about it softly, I didn't want her thinking I was the big bad wolf or something.
"You are a great student. You're attentive, your drive to learn is great. I absolutely love your work ethic and you as a person, but most of your classmates don't give a crap about my tests, that's why they don't take the study guide and my instruction seriously." I smiled at her and leaned back.
"I think you're wrong." My smile quickly faded. Either this girl had way too much faith in her classmates, or she was just absolutely crazy. "I think you're too selfish and you need to change your instruction to appeal to everyone. It's so obvious you don't care about us." I cared about her! I don't know about everyone else though...yeah she had a point on that.
I closed my eyes and sighed. I had to break it down for her and not lose my temper a bit, it was Kaylie, it was Kaylie. I had to remind myself of that, many times.
"Kaylie, you're the most attentive and your classmates just don't give a damn and that is a fact. No one is ready and excited to come to school like you Kaylie. They're just not." She nodded and looked at me again.
"Why did I get a C?" She held up the paper. I grabbed the paper and looked at it.
"You got a C because you didn't finish your problems. You were on the right track, but you didn't finish your problem." She looked at the paper again and pointed.
"But you didn't specify to write it in complete form. You just said, solve." Damn that was true. I nodded. I guess I'll have to give her, her points back. Of course I would give anyone who didn't do it in complete form their points back, but most of them didn't even do the first step. Looks like it was just gonna be her.
I took her paper and scribbled out the C and put an A. "Thank you for telling me that Kaylie. I am very sorry." She smiled and nodded.
"Thanks Kendall, I was gonna beat you up." I chuckled.
"Yeah, I probably would've beat the shit out of my teacher too." I let out a sigh and looked at my watch. "Come on, I'll just give you a ride home." I got my phone and opened the door for Kaylie. She went out and I locked my door.
I followed her to the entrance. "Bye Mr. Schmidt." I groaned internally.
"Bye Ms.....secretary." I didn't know her fucking name. I never paid attention to a damn word she said.
I went out the front door along with Kaylie and I led her to my car. She got on the passenger side and opened the door.
"You have a nice car." She looked in the backseat, in the glove compartment, the console, basically everything. I looked at her, amused.
"Yes, thank you." She probably didn't even hear me because she continued to look around the car. I started the car and drove back to our neighborhood.
I pulled up to her house and got out. The car did a 'beep' 'beep' as it locked. I loved that sound. We walked up to the doorstep and she opened the door with her key.
"Kaylie?" I heard Katelyn say.
"Yeah...and Kendall...I guess." I gave her a weird look.
"You guess? I'm standing right here." She gave a thumbs up and went upstairs, to relax or something. Katelyn came out of the kitchen and gave me a kiss. "Hey."
"Hey." She smiled.
"I hope I'm allowed to come here without notice, I decided to just take her home, so you wouldn't have to come get her." She gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Aren't you sweet. How was work?" I groaned.
"Boring as hell. I'm always ready to come home from work." She furrowed her eyebrows.
"I thought you loved math?" I nodded.
"I do, but those kids make it not enjoyable, they act like it's so hard."
Hope you liked it. Until Next Time.
