Kendall POV

I was looking around the jewelry store. I was going to buy the necklace Katelyn wanted, even though she lost the bet, but I was a B.B.E, Best Boyfriend Ever. I saw it in the display case and I looked around for someone to come and get it out for me.

"Can I help you sir?" I looked up at this young woman who was on the other side of the display case. I nodded and pointed to the necklace.

"I would like to buy that one please." She smiled and took the key from around her neck and opened the case. She brought out the necklace and sat it down.

"For your mother?"

"For my girlfriend." She looked at me intensely, up and down. It was weird, she wanted way more than I could give her.

"Girlfriend?" I nodded slowly.

"Hmph." She walked to the cash register and tapped buttons and eventually, the price showed up on the screen, which wasn't pleasant, but it was for my Katelyn. I gave her my credit card and she swiped it. "What's a girl gotta do to get someone like you?" I smiled and leaned on the counter. I gestured for her to 'come here' with my finger. She leaned in.

"All you have to do is slide the necklace over here..." I said lowly. She smirked and slid it over to me slowly. "Now, you have to slide over my credit card..." She chuckled a bit and slid over my credit card. I gave her a harder smirk. "Now..." She leaned in more. I stood up right. "Have a good day." I walked away from her as I heard a frustrated sigh. Sorry ladies, this one is taken.

I walked back to my car and went straight back home. I had to wrap this present and put it in my secret place. I walked into my house and set the necklace down on the counter. I wrapped like the natural wrapper I am because I am bomb at area and perimeter!

I heard a knock that nearly made me jump out of my seat. I grumbled and went to open the door. I was met with a pair of arms tightly wrapped around me.

"Whoa, someone is happy to see me." Katelyn pulled away and gave me a kiss.

"What's up?" I shook my head and motioned to the inside of my house.

"You know, just the Christmas spirit..." I looked back at her and she gave me a sarcastic nod.

"Yeah, you seem to be so into Christmas." I literally had no sign of Christmas in my house. I was into decorating other people's houses, but not mine. I just wasn't motivated enough. I moved out the way so she could get in. "I'm going to get something to drink?" I gave a thumbs up and shut the door. Wait! Her present was on the got damn counter! I ran in like the speed of lighting to the kitchen and saw she had her head deep in the fridge.

I grabbed the present and she turned around. I hurriedly put it behind my back.

"Uhh..."

"Just uh-just um, rat-."

"Rat!"

"Not a rat! Not a rat! I don't know what I saw-pssh- I mean, you know I don't have 20/20 vision babe, c'mon..." She gave me a weird look and shrugged.

"Not even gonna ask. What do you plan to do today?" I sighed and slid the present behind the canister on the counter.

"I have to go visit my math friend. She's in town and I'm gonna meet her at a coffee shop." She nodded. "That is if you didn't want to do anything?" She waved me off.

"Nope, go see your math buddy." I pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back.

"Thanks for letting me go see her, I miss her, a lot..." Her name was Alex. I never told Katelyn, but she was another person I had a relationship with. I probably should tell her, because Katelyn thinks this is my first real relationship when that technically wasn't true. It had been a year now since her and I broke up. We went strong for two years.

We broke up because we were so technical about everything, we would always butt heads and it always ended in an argument, but since then we've been better off as friends.

"You miss her?" I nodded and rubbed my neck.

"Yeah there's probably something I should tell you..." Now her eyes were giving me undivided attention, I could just tell.

"What is it?" I sighed out.

"Well the girl I'm going to meet is my ex..." Katelyn raised her eyebrows.

"Well...so you were in a relationship before?" I looked away and nodded.

"Yeah...sorry I didn't tell you before." She shrugged.

"It's ok, so you're going to see your ex?"

"Yeah, I'm not going to-."

"I trust you Kendall, I do. I know you wouldn't do that to me or to us. I love you."

"And I love you." I checked my watch. "Sorry to shorten this lovely time together, but I have to be at the coffee shop in ten." I kissed her and she grabbed the sides of my face. We pulled away.

"Alright, call me later or whenever." I kissed her cheek.

"You gonna stay here or..."

"Nah, I'm going home."

I bid Katelyn goodbye and then made my way to coffee shop. I got out my car and went inside. I saw her with two mugs, one with her and across the table, which I assume was mine. She was on her phone. Her eyes looking intensely at it through her glasses.

"Hey Alex." I said as I approached her. She looked up and smile.

"Kendall." She got up and gave me a hug. We pulled away and I sat across from her.

"So how's it going?" She shrugged and took a sip.

"It's going great. Doing lots of math and loving it." I gave her thumbs up. "What about you?"

"Everythings great. I'm still teaching my mathmatical ways. Oh." I didn't know if I should tell her if I had girlfriend.

"What's up?"

"I've met someone." She raised her eyebrows and set her mug down.

"Oh yeah? She must be special." I nodded.

"She is, we've been together for a while now and it's been great." She smiled.

"Must be really good at math." I shook my head.

"Actually no. She can't think the math we think, but she's still perfect." She crossed her arms.

"Not good at math? I thought you liked smart girls Kendall."

"She is a smart girl. She keeps me in line and helps me through my hard times. She's always there for me."

"I thought you said never again?" I scoffed.

"I thought so until I met her."

"Why is she so different?"

"She's not a you."

Hope you liked it. Until Next Time.
