Enjoy.
Kendall POV
"Huh?" I rolled my eyes.
"Would...you...like...to-." She put her hand up and I stopped. I gave her a dull look. "Well you said "huh", so I assumed-."
"I know what you said. I just couldn't believe that you would invite me over for dinner." I shrugged. I wanted to invite Katelyn over for dinner because I wanted to get to know her better. To be honest, I am very much attracted to her. I wanted to see if this could be something.
We haven't been flirting like we used to, probably because I'm not her favorite person right now, but whatever, I still wanted to see if I had my charm. I smirked at her and waited for her response.
"Uh, um..." I rolled my eyes and got up.
"Forget it, I shouldn't have asked. Shouldn't have brought it up. Just, go." I sat in my chair at the desk and played with my phone. I don't even know why I asked her, or even made an attempt to have some kind of relationship that was more than "neighbor".
"Kendall, yes, I'll come." I shook my head. I waved her off.
"Offer is off the table, you took too long so you must've not wanted to do it. I know, it was stupid. I shouldn't have asked you. I just wanted to get to know you better, but that was a mistake." She nodded slowly and started walking to the door. I watched her open the door. "So...7?" She turned around and smiled.
"Sounds good to me." I gave her a thumbs up and waved bye to her. I should've gave her the middle finger, but I wanted to be somewhat nice. A few minutes after she left, I got my stuff and left the school. I locked my door and turned to walk down the hall.
"Mr. Schmidt." Damn it. That voice again, Kelly. I turned around and put on my best fake smile.
"Hi..." She walked up to me and played with the buttons on my shirts. "What can I help you with?" She looked up at me. Man, why did she have to like me?
"How about we do dinner at your house?" HA! I was never ever going to let her know where I lived. My life would never be the same, she'd probably be over there 24/7.
"Oh man, as much fun as that sounds, I have something to do tonight." She made the most disgusting groan ever. Man I really wanted to get away from her. "But I'm gonna go. Bye." I walked away as fast as I could. I think she was saying things to me as I was walking away, but I just wanted to leave her as fast as I could.
I sighed when I was on the first floor. Hopefully, she wasn't following me. "Bye Mr. Schmidt." I looked at the secretary and nodded. She still, couldn't get a man.
I made my way to my car and got in. I started the engine up and listened to my car roar. "Hell, yes." I had a BMW, only the best of the best one though. I sped out of the parking lot and went home.
I pulled up to my driveway. I looked to my right and saw Katelyn was home. I got out the car and jogged up the steps. I wasn't about to put candle lights, have a violinist, and have rose petals spread throughout the yard. Hell no, I was not about to put that much effort into someone.
I was gonna make my five star signature dish.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, can't go wrong with that. You thought I was gonna make some gourmet meal on the stove? Nope, don't have time. Actually, I have plenty of time, but I really didn't care enough to do that.
Time had flew by like it always does, 6:45, I had the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches out on the table, all ready to be eaten. I didn't really have anything to go with them.
"Damn, I need to go to the grocery store more often." I looked through my pantry, nothing at all. "Marshmallows?" I took the bag out, looked at it, then shrugged. I put the marshmallows in a bowl on the middle of the table. "There, we have our side dish." I was gonna put as much effort into what I wore for the dinner, as much as I put in for the side dish and the main dish itself. "I'll just keep my work clothes on."
I heard my doorbell. She's here. I went and opened the door and saw her on the other side. I looked her up and down and she looked hot. Like, seriously, hot. She smiled slightly. "Hi." She said. I waved and let her in. She looked around at my house. "Wow, this is a pretty big size, on a teacher salary." I put my hands in my pockets and chuckled.
"That's because I don't make a teacher salary." She rolled her eyes.
"Should've figured."
"Yeah, you should've." I grabbed her arm and led her to my dining room. I motioned to the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, with the marshmallows. "Bon appétit." She looked very amused as she looked at what was in front of her. I smiled at her as she continued to stare. "We can't let this go to waste, c'mon, sit, I insist." She glared me, then sat down. I sat down as well.
"Marshmallows?" I started eating my sandwich.
"Yeah." I sounded muffled because half of my sandwich was in my mouth. She put a thumbs up and began to eat. We ate in silence for a while, that is, until she said something.
"So, tell me about yourself Kendall." I raised an eyebrow.
"Of course, my name is Kendall." Boom.
"Really? C'mon, I really wanna know who you are." She said softly. Man, her voice got me going. Damn, she's doing something to me.
"Alright," I said halfheartedly, "Well, I'm 27. I live with no one else, but my dog Sissy, I love her so much, more than my own father. Let's see, uh, I do have siblings, two older brothers-."
"Aw you're the baby." I glared at her.
"Yes, I am the youngest one. I'm sexually active," I raised my eyebrows up and down. She looked like she was gonna kill me, so I continued. "Um, I'm very selfish, very arrogant, an asshole as well, I have no desire to have children, no desire to be married."
She nodded slowly. I shrugged and sat back. "I'll tell you about myself I guess." I gestured toward her.
"Shoot."
"I am 30 years old-."
"You had Kaylie at 16?" She nodded. Wow, who the hell knocked her up? "Well then."
"I know you're gonna judge-." I put my hand up.
"Honestly, I really don't give a crap, just continue."
"I am very close with my family, I don't have too many friends. I love to travel with Kaylie and see places that are really once in a lifetime opportunities. I would love to get married and potentially have more kids with that person." I nodded. There was something I really wanted to touch base on again.
"Tell me about Kaylie's dad again please, more thorough, if you will."
Hope you liked it. Until Next Time.
