Enjoy.
Kendall POV
I was walking out of the school and I saw Kaylie talking to some man. I looked for a moment and they were talking, but Kaylie didn't seem too comfortable with him.
He looked like he was pressing her to do something, he looked like he was getting frustrated. They continued talking and he started to raise his voice a bit, then he tried to grab her. I ran over.
"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" I got in front of Kaylie and she looked surprised to see me. This dude was big and tall, he looked really muscular as well. Oh shit. Why did it have to be Kaylie? I mean, I would've called the cops or something if it was someone else, but if the cops didn't get there in time, I don't know what I would've done.
"This has nothing to do with you pal." He had a dark, deep voice. I decided to stop being scared and just do what I had to do.
"Who are you exactly?" He put his finger in my face and said.
"That's none of your business, now move!" I shook my head and stood stern in front of Kaylie. No way in hell was I about to step away.
"Kendall..." I heard Kaylie murmur behind me. I ignored her and continued looking at the dude hard.
"Who. Are. You." He got even more in my face and gave me a hard look.
"I'm her father. Who the hell are you?!" Oh...This was her father. He was big as hell! I looked him over more and indeed he was her father. They looked just alike.
"Kendall..." I heard her murmur again. He looked beside me at Kaylie.
"You know this man's name?! Kendall is it." He pushed me a bit and I stepped back. I got back in his face.
"I'm someone who cares about her more than you ever will in your entire life." I pushed him a bit and that probably was a terrible idea. Terrible idea. Why'd I always have to be a hero man and why did it have to be Kaylie man.
He looked taken back and then swung at me. I felt the impact like a hard wooden bat in the face. Before I knew it, my weak self blacked out.
I woke up and I saw a white ceiling. I looked around and saw that I was on a couch. I sat up a bit and I went right back down.
"Son of a bitch." I looked around and saw that this house was very familiar. It was Katelyn's house. I heard footsteps.
"Oh my god!" She ran over to me and grabbed my face. She put an ice pack, I assume, on my head and that was the best feeling ever. She kissed my lips. "Are you ok?! I'm so sorry he did that to you." Oh yeah, Kaylie's father was an asshole. "That was so sweet of you to stand up for Kaylie like that." I stood up for her alright, I stood up and got knocked right back down.
"I didn't want anything to happen to her-ow, got damn he got me good." She rubbed my head and the side of my face. A few tears ran down her face.
"I'm so sorry." I wiped her tears away and attempted to shake my head.
"It's not your fault, he's just an asshole. A huge, asshole. I would've done the same for you because I care about you guys." She gave me another kiss. "Where's Kaylie?"
"Right here." I looked up and she was on the other side of the couch. "Thanks for doing that for me Kendall. It means a lot." She damn near scared me off the couch, I had no idea she was there.
"You're welcome, I didn't want anything happening to you." She rubbed my hair and I glared at her. She chuckled and went off to another room. I looked back at Katelyn, who was now adjusting the ice pack on my head.
I struggled while I tried to sit up. I grabbed the ice pack from her and set it down. "I'm fine Katelyn, just a headache for now."
"I knew Dean wouldn't like you, for one it's because he can clearly see you're a better father than he could ever be to Kaylie. Then two, you're my boyfriend so..." I nodded. I can see that he doesn't like, I feel it too.
"It's alright, I just don't wanna see that asshole again. As long as you and Kaylie are safe, he will not get a bother out of me." I smiled at her and grabbed her hand.
"Well, I've gotta start dinner." She got up and went into the kitchen. I sat back and groaned, my head hurt like hell. I hope I didn't lose my math intelligence! I started going over different math properties in my head and I got them all right! Thank god, I would be broken without them.
I felt something plop next to me, so I turned. It was Kaylie, who looked at me with a blank face. I raised my eyebrow and she chuckled.
"I need to ask you something." I turned toward her and motioned for her to go on.
"Shoot." I wondered what she was going to ask. I gave my full attention to her and listened with open ears.
"Soo...we've known each other a while now." I nodded.
"Yes we have."
"Soo...man I don't want to make this awkward, but I already am so...never mind, it's stupid and I'm afraid to ask you." She started to get up but I gently grabbed her arm and sat her back down.
"No it's not, nothing you say is stupid, don't be afraid. You can ask me anything and don't ever be afraid of me." She sighed and nodded. I chuckled, I couldn't lie, I liked being feared by some people.
"You know that the school is having a father's day type thing...on Saturday." I smiled at her and nodded. She was going to ask me to go with her as her father. I'm pretty shocked, I didn't think she would ask me.
"I'm aware." She put a thumbs up.
"So you know what I'm trying to ask you right?" I decided to mess with her a bit because I just love doing that to people.
"Nope, what is it you wanna ask?" She fell back on to the couch. I laughed a bit.
"Kendall! Come on!" I shook my head.
"I don't know what you're trying to ask me Kaylie." She gave me a 'really' look and sighed.
"Fine, fine. Would you be interested, in going to the Father's Day thing with me." I grabbed her shoulder.
"I would be honored."
Hope you guys liked it. Until Next Time.
