Katelyn POV
Few Months Later
"Ok, how are we gonna get this thing to stand up." I looked at the tree for a few moments, then turned to Kaylie.
"Don't look at me Mom." I sighed. I tried to get the Christmas tree to stand upright by myself this year, but that was just not happening.
"Ok, I'm calling Kendall." I grabbed my phone and dialed his phone number. "Hey I-."
"Can't get the tree up?" Yeah I told him I would be able to. We even made a bet on it. If I got the tree up, he had to buy this diamond necklace I wanted for me, if he won, which he did, I had to get him the top of the line graphing calculator for Christmas. He was too into math man.
"No! I called you because-cause-."
"Give it up Mom." Oh fine.
"I can't get the tree up."
"Be there in five." He hung the phone up and I pouted. I tossed my phone on the couch. All the bets we've made, I've always lost. He was too good. I heard a knock at the door a few minutes later.
Kaylie went to the front door and opened it.
"Hey Kaylie." Kendall gave her a hug and walked passed her. "And hello babe. I smell a graphing calculator in my future." He chuckled cockily.
"Ha ha, whatever. Just help me get the tree up." He went over to the tree that was sideways on my living room floor. He hugged it and put it up like it weighed nothing.
"There ya go. Your tree is up, Christmas has officially started in your house." I got the box of ornaments and put them on the table.
"Alright, let's start."
For the next hour, we started putting up ornaments one by one. We put up ornaments my grandma gave me, family ornaments, ornaments that Kaylie made in preschool. There was just all types of ornaments.
"Aw Kaylie is that you?" Kendall said with a wide smile. She rolled her eyes.
"Unfortunately." I went over to her and rubbed her back.
"She looked so cute." Kendall smirked at Kaylie and put it on the tree.
Eventually, we got done and the only appropriate way to end us putting up the ornaments was a star at the top of the tree.
"Kaylie, would you like to do the honors?" Kendall asked. She nodded and got the star from the bin. She looked at Kendall and he hoisted her up.
"I'm too heavy aren't I?" She turned and looked down at him.
"Nah, I got guns." Of course he does. I rolled my eyes. Kaylie put the star up and it shined bright in the light that was hitting it. Kendall put her down gently and we all looked up at the tree.
"Alright, this calls for hot chocolate." I heard and 'yes' and an 'oh yeah', so everyone was on board. I made three hot chocolates and brought them out into the living room.
The fire was lit, it was snowing outside, in LA, stupid global warming, and the Christmas tree was the main source of lighting in the room. It felt like that typical Christmas movie with the family around the fire, talking amongst themselves. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
"How about a movie?" I suggested.
"Yes, let's watch Home Alone. That's ma movie man." I looked at Kaylie who was so ready for me to turn it on.
"Home Alone, put it in Katelyn." Kendall came over to the couch and sat in between me and Kaylie. "Did you wanna sit next to your mom Kaylie?" She shook her head quickly.
"No because when they get to the sappy parts, she'll start the waterworks." I glared at her. "It's true Mom."
"Slightly true." Kendall chuckled and wrapped his arm around me. The movie began and all eyes were on the TV.
Further into the movie, a sappy part did indeed come, so I don't know why or how, but the waterworks I guessed turned on.
"What'd I tell you Kendall?" He chuckled and wiped my tears away.
As the movie started coming to an end, I looked over at Kaylie and saw she was fast asleep on Kendall's shoulder. I smiled at the sight.
"She loves you Kendall." He looked down at her and put his arm around her.
"And I love her." Yeah Kendall was the one for me, the one for us. I could just tell. The movie ended and Kendall picked Kaylie up and put her in the bed. I kissed her goodnight and we went out the room.
"Would you like to stay the night Mr. Schmidt?" He tapped his chin and looked up in thought.
"That's a tough one."
"Oh is it?" He nodded and playfully thought again. I gently slapped his chest.
"I guess I can stay." I slowly clapped.
"Thank you honorable guest." He glared at me and we went to my bedroom.
He stripped down to his boxers and got into the bed under the blankets. I put my pajamas on and realized that I did it right in front of him. I turned around quickly and he had a smirk on his face.
"I changed-."
"Right in front of me babe." I looked at him sheepishly.
"Sorry." He widened his eyes.
"Sorry?! Babe that was the best sight ever. I thank you for that. Don't be uncomfortable to do that in front of me, ever. Your body is beautiful." I got into the bed with him and ran my hand across his chest hair. "...do you like my chest hair or something...?" I laughed because he looked at me like a weirdo.
"Yep." He smiled and gave a thumbs up. "You know what I had in mind?" I looked up at him. I ran my hand down his chest.
"What did you have in mind?" I looked at his chest then back up at him. Just by his eyes, I could tell he knew what I was getting at.
"I think you know." I ran my hand lower.
"Oh I know."
Hope you liked this chapter. Until Next Time.
