Let's continue Kendall's POV this chapter. Enjoy!
Kendall POV
Great. Just absolutely great. Dean had to be here. How the hell did he even know?! He gave me a stern look. He looked like he wanted to beat the shit out of me right now. I turned and looked at Kaylie, she was still talking to her friends, oblivious to the situation. Thank god, I didn't want to ruin this night for her. I turned back and looked at him.
"What do you want?" He grabbed my shoulder and hoisted me up and got in my face.
"I want you to leave, so I can do this with my daughter. You're not her father!" We were so close that I felt his hot breath on my face and it was not a delightful smell.
"Will you be quiet, I'm not trying to ruin this for her. You just need to get the hell out of here." He shook his head slowly. This was not going to be an easy situation. "You know what, you wanna talk, let's go out in the hall." He let go of my shoulder and pushed me toward the exit. We went out to the hallway, where unfortunately, there were no witnesses.
"You are never going to be my daughter's father!" I nodded eagerly.
"You're right! You don't give two shits about her though while I do. You can't expect some measly dance like this to make up for lost time. I think you just need to stay away from her because she doesn't want anything to do with you since you're an asshole." He pushed me up against the lockers. What were we? In highs chool? He pointed at me.
"Stay away from Kaylie and stay away from Katelyn because I'll have people watching your every fucking move." I scoffed.
"What are you, the CIA?" He got even more in my face, which I didn't know how, there was no space.
"What I am is your worst fucking nightmare. I'll have my gang be watching you." I laid my head back against the lockers. Of course he's the leader of a gang, of course. I have a freakin ganglord watching me. "Watch yourself, punk." He let me go and went out the front door.
First of all, I was not about to let some ganglord, big ass idiot, keep me away from my girlfriend and her daughter, all because he can't not be an asshole. I straightened my suit. I turned to go back into the entrance but I heard someone.
"Kendall!" I looked up and saw Kaylie coming toward me. "Why are you out here?" I shrugged and looked around.
"Just needed to get away from the middle-aged men you know." She nodded slowly.
"Well let's go back in." I was still thinking about Dean and what he said to me. I heard snaps, more snaps and snaps. What was that noise? "Kendall!" I jumped a bit and looked at Kaylie. "Let's go back in." I followed her into the entrance.
The rest of the night, I didn't think once about Dean and just enjoyed my time with Kaylie. The dance was over, so we went back to my car to go home. I pulled out the parking lot and starting going back home.
"So you and my mom have been together for a while." I nodded as I paid attention to the road. I gave a side glance.
"Yeah, we have." It went silent for a moment, but she spoke again.
"When are you gonna propose?" I chuckled and shook my head.
"Kaylie, I love your mom very much, but it's a little early for me to propose." I never ever got to the stage of talking about a proposal before because my other relationships weren't meaningful like this one.
"Do you even think you guys will get that far?"
"I surely hope so," I shrugged, "I will do everything in my power to make your mom continue to love and wanna be with me. To be honest...this whole relationship thing in general is all new to me, but I am very optimistic about the future." I looked over at her and she was staring out the window. "Can I ask you something?" I saw in my peripherals that she turned to look at me.
"Sure." I looked in my rearview.
"If I were to propose in the future, would you be okay with me being your stepdad?" I glanced at her.
"You're the closest thing to a dad and I basically already consider you one-sorry, I shouldn't have said that, I don't want to put you in that position." I pulled over and stopped the car. She gave me a weird look and I turned to her.
"It's ok, I want to be in that position because I love you. " I started the car up again and took her home.
******
I walked into school with the fakest smile on my face. Day by day I really didn't wanna be here. Why don't you quit Kendall? The money is too good, that's why. I started walking down the hall until Principal Cross stepped in front of me.
"May I have a word with you Mr. Schmidt?" I gave him a weird look and nodded. He let me go in front of him into the office. I turned the corner straight into his office, then he shut the door.
"What's this about Cross?" He sat behind his desk and looked at me, stern.
"Why don't you have a seat Mr. Schmidt." I shook my head.
"I don't have time to have a seat, I need to set things up." He scoffed.
"Like you care about setting things up." I nodded at him.
"And you are so right about that Cross. Thank you for knowing me well." He gave me an annoyed look.
"Our math scores-." I cut him off.
"Are just fine." He shook his head and sat up in his chair.
"No they've gone down, which means you're fired."
Hope you liked it. Until Next Time.
