"Why am I stuck doing this? Living this life I'm forced to live, doing things I'm pushed to do when I really just want to move on with my life and have different experiences. I want to see the world, not be stuck here," my face slid into my hands as I spoke the words that always seemed to come to my mind.
"It'll pass. Everything always does. Push through this part of your life, and you'll finally get to where you want to be. You have to outlast this before you can move on."
"Can I go on with it now? Do I have to go through this part?"
"You have to go through everything. The bad before the good, that's the way it always is. It might seem hard now, but it'll be nothing in the future. You know," she said as she held the cigarette between her fingers. "Life isn't that bad. There's ups and downs, twists and turns. But most of the time, stuff works out. And you know, that's all I really need."
