"I really like him. And I've liked him for a while. And I knew I was going to say yes when he asked me out, even when we were just talking. And I don't want to break up. But I think it might be best. Because I'm a sucky girlfriend. And I think he likes his ex," she wiped the tears from her eyes as she stared into the eyes of her friend.
"Honey, he doesn't deserve you."
She pulled her friend into a hug and squeezed her until she thought all the broken pieces were squished back together.
