It's not about the end. It's never about the end. The whole point of living your life isn't to die, and the whole point of reading a story isn't to see how it ends. The end just tops it off;  it just gives you answers. The end itself, however, is never the answer.
The end might seem like an answer, but, in reality, it is the result of the answer. Endings are just the result of all the consequences throughout your life. The ending never helps you get anywhere because, after you know what happens, it's too late to fix it. It isn't too late to move on though.
Now don't get me wrong: endings aren't always bad. I mean, look at sunsets. They're endings, they happen every day, and they can be beautiful. But they aren't always good either. Sometimes they make you cry. Sometimes they make you want to scream. Sometimes you get so mad that there are very few ways to describe the pounding in your head and the shaking of your clenched fists, the anger taking over your eyes and your teeth biting into the inside of your cheek to stop you from saying anything you shouldn't. Sometimes they make you so unbelievably happy that you want to squeal and smile and keep on believing in the rainbows and unicorns that can make the world better. Sometimes it can scare you; it can terrify you to the point where you get confused on what to do next. Sometimes you get jealous. You get jealous that someone else got the ending you wanted, whether it was real or fake. You could feel more than one emotion as you take in what happened in the end.
Endings are symbolistic, and they happen all the time. In fact, there are millions, maybe even trillions, of endings happening as you're reading this. Someone dying, a relationship ending, people graduating, and so many other things. But even when the world is filled with endings, you also can't forget that the world is overflowing with beginnings. Sometimes it feels like things just end, but beginnings are everywhere. Don't forget the endings, but don't let them hold you back.
