Married to the Mafia: Capítulo Ocho
"OPEN THE DOOR MICAH!"
I banged on the door, hoping to awaken Micah. Knowing him, he would probably be sleeping.
"MICAH!" I groaned as Maddy screamed his name through the door. We heard the stairs creaking which meant that he was finally awaking and walking down the stairs. He probably wasn't too happy about that though.
I could hear Xiomara's little giggles before I heard the clicking of the dog being opened. Finally, it was open and he stared at us with a blank look on his face. "What do you want?" He asked in a detached tone and Maddy and I stared at him for the longest time.
Had he meant what he said?
All these thoughts ran through my mind and suddenly, my heart felt heavy. I tried to put myself in his shoes but I couldn't. If my mother was killed by a mafia person, I would be pissed but I wouldn't go after them because I knew that it wouldn't turn out the way I wanted it too. Things like this didn't work in our favor. I sighed and pushed past him into his house, Maddy behind me.
"Hey little Xio." Maddy hugged the awaiting Xiomara who beamed at the sight of us as I pulled on his arm and dragged him with me up the stairs to his room. I had things to discuss with him whether he wanted to or not.
"Why are you here?" He raised an eyebrow as he sat on the bed, looking fed up with us. He looked so pissed off and he looked like he wanted to scream and kick the shit out of us for not understanding where he's coming from, but he has to see it from our point of view.
I knew he wanted revenge for his mother and her being killed, but I didn't want to be like this! If we found and arrested Ramone, then everything would be brought to justice. I didn't want him to make the situation worse by going and trying to kill that bad ass mafia boss. Chances were he would get caught and killed!
I didn't want that at all. He was my best friend, my brother and I needed him by my side. If he wasn't, I wouldn't know what to do. We've been friends for the longest time and
Then Maddy came into the room, locking the door. "Great. Let's get this over with. I have more important things to do like killing a mafia boss." Micah clicked my tongue and looked at his fingernails. "Go on. It's not like we're friends anymore."
Then I turned to him, a look of heart-crushing agony in my eyes. My chest felt tight and all I wanted to do was yell. How could he be like this? I glared at him, not understanding why he was acting like this.
"Did you just say we aren't friends anymore?" I asked in a dark tone and he shrugged before replying. "Yesterday, you made that pretty clear. I'm just putting it in words for you." He got up but I pulled him back down by his waist.
"You listen to me, Micah James McKenna." I stared him down, hurt evident in my eyes. "We aren't friends, that is true because you are my brother and I promised your mom I wouldn't let you do anything stupid. You are rash and impulsive and it's my job to make sure you stay safe." I said and he sighed, knowing that I was right.
"That's just it. I want to do it and I will do it, whether you're by my side and that goes for both of you," Micah pointed to Maddy and I, a look of determination on his face. "I love you guys, but I will do this. I'm willing to give up my own humanity to bring this bastard down."
