Married to the Mafia: Capítulo Veinticinco
"Mr. Giordano, there's a Mr. Vega here to see you. Again."
I groaned out loud. "May, how many times do I have to tell you? Mr. Giordano is my father. Just call me Derek." I said as I walked around with Damiana in my arms. "As for Mr. Vega, you can let him in. I'll deal with him."
She smiled and walked back out of the room.
For the past 3 months after I gave birth to the twins, I was immediately placed into a house already furnished with several maids waiting on me. It was a house that Raymundo had bought for us and he came to visit every day for the last three months.
Not that I cared anyway.
He could do whatever he wanted. He bought the house, he can come slither his way inside if he chooses to. I just don't want him in my way.
I had thought about giving him a second chance and I decided against it. Why should I be with someone to didn't have the decency to put me out of harm's way? Why should I be with someone who obviously didn't trust me?
It didn't matter that he didn't cheat on me in the way that I thought he did but isn't it common courtesy to tell your partner the things that are worrying you? It can't be a relationship if all the trust is one-sided.
So he can take his apology and shove it where the sun don't fucking shine. He can do whatever it is that he wanted before I came into his life. He can go on and move on with his life and become the best he can be.
I just won't be in it.
"Hey, Derek." I snapped my head up to the doorway to see a disheveled Raymundo standing in the doorway, his eyes rimmed with redness and his cheeks puffy and his lips red and swollen.
Nice.
"Hi, Raymundo." I had long stopped calling him by 'Ray', the nickname he allowed me to call him. "Ramiro is sleeping right now, so you can't see him just yet." I said in a polite tone, willing myself not to say anything sarcastic.
"Oh, that's okay." He whispered as he walked further into the room. "I came to talk to you as well." He said and I nodded, taking a seat at the table. I motioned for him to sit across from me. "Talk."
He sighed as he ran a hand through his unkempt hair before speaking. "Did you get my letter?" He asked and I rolled my eyes, listening to Damiana's coos. "Of course I did. No one could miss the name Derek written in big ass letters." I scoffed and he flinched a bit.
Derek,
Mi bello, I know I disappointed you. I know I did you wrong. I know words cannot explain how much you must hate me. I know you gave me your all and I threw it out the window like it was nothing. I know you gave me all your love and I stomped all over.
I can't put into words how sorry I am. I'm sorry for not trusting you to help me with this situation. I'm sorry for treating you like I did. I'm sorry for doing the things that I did. Words cannot express the pain that you feel.
But I do know this. My love for you was never a lie. I need you to survive. Without you, I don't know what to do. Never again, will I do such a thing. I know these words don't mean anything to you but I'll show you just how serious I am in getting you back. I know my talk is cheap and sorry means nothing but I'm going to prove to you that I'm madly in love with you.
