                                                                          Hospital in Houston, Texas, a hallway, around . . . 8:34pm

“KATHRYN!!!” I heard someone yell from behind me as I walked up behind Drew with the fire axe I'd found just a minute ago.

I completely ignored the voice behind me, but Drew didn't. As he turned around, I was about ten feet behind him and moving fast. I knew that he did more to AJ than beat her up, it's too obvious; the way she looked when she saw him, the way he looked when he saw her. When he turned around I flipped the axe around in my hands so the dull part of the head was facing forward. When I was close enough to Drew, I swung back and tried to hit him. I didn't. Both of my arms were grabbed by someone from behind me. My momentum caused me to drop the axe and it slid across the floor. Drew jumped back about ten feet and the person grabbing me was grabbing me REALLY hard, so I knew that it wasn't Kat or a nurse or someone like that.

“The hell are you going around killing people for?!” they asked. They turned me around forcefully and I saw a familiar yet unexpected face.

“John? What the hell are you doing here?” I asked.

“I'm the one that texted you, remember? I had to visit a sick friend and I knew that AJ was here because of the talk going around the lobby,” he said, not letting up on his grip. “Now please tell me, why are you trying to kill Drew McIntyre?”

“Because he hurt AJ,” I answered. “And I'm not about to let it go.”

I tried to squirm away from John but he wouldn't let go for anything, so it felt like. My attempts were halted by Drew speaking up.

“I'll sue you, b****!” he yelled at me. I turned my head to him and snorted.

“Oh yeah, a girlfriend beater suing someone else; that's a laugh!” I said back. He turned and walked out of the building without another word. Just then, as John let me go, a doctor and some security guys came up to us.

“What on EARTH is going on here?” the doctor asked in a booming voice. I took a deep breath and sighed.

“Well, for starters, the man who beat and assaulted my friend just walked out of the hospital,” I said impatiently, gesturing to the glass from door. They all looked at the front door and shrugged.

“I don't see anyone,” Security 1 said. I tilted my head and pushed out my lips at him—my “Are you a freaking IDIOT?” look.

“That's probably because he just WALKED OUT THE DOOR!!” I yelled, closing my eyes in frustration. Security 2 put his hand up and closed his eyes, too.

“There's no need to yell ma'am,” he said. I just rolled my eyes. Kat ran up and stopped herself by using John's arm as a barricade.

“What the hell, man?!” she yelled at me. I just shrugged and walked over to the fire axe, picking it up. “Oh, jeez, you didn't kill anyone, did you?”

“No,” I said, rolling my eyes again. “I tried to, though.”

“Hold on a second, you attempted homicide?” Security 3 asked. I looked up at him and narrowed my eyes at him.
