                                                            “Should We?”

WWE Monday Night RAW Houseshow, CenturyLink Arena (Boise, Idaho), backstage area, around . . . 8pm

I love how you walk with your hands in your pockets

How you kissed me when I was in the middle of saying something

There's not a day when I don't miss those rude interruptions

But now I'll go sit on the floor

Wearing your clothes

All that I know is that

I don't know how to be something you miss

Never thought we'd have a last kiss

Never imagined we'd end like this

Your name, forever the name on my lips

. . .

Your name, forever the name on my lips

Just like our last kiss

Forever the name on my lips

Forever the name on my lips

Just like our last

“You still in there, Kath?” I heard through my music. I looked to my side to see Kat looking at me with concern. I turned off my iPod and took my earbuds out, wrapping them around the iPod.

“Yeah,” I said. “What's up?”

“Well, we have a match in about seven minutes,” she said, gesturing to the ring attire we were both wearing. “We're opening the show.”

“I know that!” I said. “I was just getting in the zone is all.”

“Getting in the zone?” she asked incredulously. I nodded. “With a Taylor Swift song?”

I just rolled my eyes and started walking.

“You manage to get any sleep last night?” she asked with a smile on her face, now walking next to me. I smirked at her.

“Yes, actually,” I said. “I re-watched the Marble Hornets video on YouTube and finally remembered where you guys got it from.”

“Well, Alex and Mike planned the whole thing. Justin and I were just in on it,” she said, kicking a water bottle somebody must have dropped out of the way.

“Interesting,” I said, casting her a sidelong look. I clutched my iPod hard in my hand, lost in thinking about—

“OW!” I yelled, feeling a stinging sensation on the surface of my midsection. I saw that Kat's hand was right there. “What the hell?!”

“Look over there,” she said, forcing me into an upright position and yanking my head to look over where she was pointing.

Admittedly, I was a little surprised. And a little panicked. Alex and Chris were having a conversation in the middle of the bloody hallway. I saw smiling. I heard laughing. And I hoped that those things were just the way two men talked to each other. My breath caught sharply in my throat when I saw Alex's eyes turn to me. I quickly resume walking, attempting to act like I'd never seen them speak in my life.
