“The 3rd Visit”
Jacksonville Hospital (Jacksonville, Florida), hallway, asleep, around . . . ???
(A/N: Full credit for this dream scene goes to Jordan Lynde (XxSkater2Girl16xX). I am not stealing her scenes, ideas, or stories; I am giving her FULL credit for this scene. I don't see it as anything different than fan fiction.)
“You know, you really didn't have to do this,” I said, my humbleness getting the better of me. “Come all the way to Michigan just for a day?”
“Yes, actually, I did have to!” Alex protested, sitting comfortably in the driver's seat of the rental convertible we got. “I'm late on getting a birthday present for you.”
“I told you I didn't want anything,” I smiled, leaning my elbow on the windowsill. He clicked his tongue. “Also, it's only a day past my actual birthday.”
“Hey, May fifteenth is a good a day as any!” he said. “Also, I talked to your mom, and—”
“Oh, no,” I groaned, putting my hand over my face. “She didn't murder you, did she?”
“No,” he laughed. “She told me about a place that you used to go all the time when you were a kid.”
“Pardon?” I cocked an eyebrow and cast him a sidelong look.
“Yeah!” he nodded. “You remember Mackenzie Rhodes park, right?”
I whipped my head over to face him. “Yes.”
“Thought you would,” A smirk spilled onto his face. I smiled.
My eyes fell to my light boot cut jeans and white long sleeve shirt—something Alex tricked me into wearing so that we'd match. Honestly, we didn't look bad.
Once we arrived at the park, ten thousand memories filled my head at once. The sun was shining down on a squirrel gnawing on a nut over to my right, the tall maple trees and cherry blossoms all waved hello with the wind. It was beautiful.
“Hey,” Alex clipped, tapping my shoulder.
I turned around soon enough to catch a glimpse of his brilliant cobalt eyes lit up by the sun before he kissed me. The kiss lasted a few seconds before we separated and we got out of the car, the sound of the door shutting causing the squirrel to run off.
“So!” he said, taking my hand in his, swinging it back and forth. “You're the expert here; what do we do first?”
“Well,” I bit my lip, thinking back to when I was a kid. “My favorite thing to do here would be feeding the ducks over at the pond.” I pointed with my free hand to a pond about a hundred yards away from us. “If you're up to it.”
“Dude, ducks bite,” Alex said. I laughed. “What? They do!”
“Not these! Come on!” I walked faster, pulling him along with me.
“Okay, but if they bite me, I'm suing them,” he warned me. I just laughed.
“You can't sue a duck, Alex,” I said.
