The Savior and the Prince// Yugyeom & Jimin

Abandoned

The dark sky was empty except for the bright full moon brimming over the ocean horizon. Waves splashed back and forth, crushing every rock in its way. The cold evening was interrupted by the unwanted storm. Raging sounds and thunder roared all over the Kingdom of Nasúb. King Park stood with his arms around his two precious loved ones, his wife and son. Queen Park sang a lullaby to her son who had just turned two years old. She softly hummed a melody to ease the tiny baby's fear. 

Hush my child, smile when the lilies bloom, the full moon still shines, it washes the bad and pushes away the doom. Tonight the warm flower scented wind, the sky without a single star, let astray the worries and take the love that I send.

Meanwhile, under the deep blue ocean was the Kingdom of Atosennim, home to the Merpeople. It may be chaotic above the sea but just as much trouble was stirring below. King Sung Jae's two wives were struggling. Two new babies would be introduced this very night. Though it should be normal, it was also a competition. The first born would get the throne and everything else would go to that child.

Hours passed by in both worlds. The comparison between the silence that surrounded King Sung Jae while he awaits for his children and King Park's crying prince did not matter because these two worlds were never to meet. 

As the thunders returned to the sky, the storm started to die down. Yet the little prince's cries continued, traveling throughout the castle. As if signaled by the echo of the little boy, the First Queen lets out a sigh of relief. The wind, acting as a carrier, sends salty air across the land. The first born child has arrived. She was a small baby with the cutest wrinkles. As soon as her first cries escaped the room, the cries from little prince had ceased. The two worlds, determined to never meet, had already been fated that night. 

"Look, our child has stopped crying at last. Go to sleep now my precious Jimin. Mother will be here with you until your eyes close," said Queen Park. She patiently stayed by her son's side.

Under the ocean, King Sung Jae was able to hold his first child. "Such a beautiful young lady you will be. Y/N. I shall call you my little princess Y/N." While he adores his daughter and wife, the Second Queen continues to push. She had not received news of the first child yet, seeming it would be detrimental to her situation. After a few waves of time, the second princess of the kingdom was born. The Second Queen awaited her husband while holding her little girl. She smiled and kindly kissed her baby's forehead. 

"She shall be named by her father and will become queen of this nation," the Second Queen said happily. Her ladies in waiting started to whisper among themselves. Noticing this, the Second Queen sharply asks, "Who dares to whisper in the presence of the queen?"

The Second Queen's court lady hesitantly replied, "Your highness, I apologize for my behaviors. I shall teach them better."

Not looking at any of them the Second Queen says, "What was so important that you all could not wait to speak?" Silence as the ladies all took turns looking at each other to answer. "Oh ho! State it now."

"I'm sorry your highness, but it's just that...well...the First Queen's little girl is the first born. Even now, the King is with her at their side," replied one of the ladies. 

The Second Queen looks up in anger and sharply turns to her court lady. "Everyone, you may leave us." The ladies swam off and closed the orange coral doors. "Court lady Mi-Sook, I need you to do something for me." She quietly spills her plan to the court lady. "This is something you will never speak of again, you hear me?"

"Ah y-yes your highness." She was shocked that the Second Queen would go to such measures but as a servant, she had orders to fulfill. Quickly she swam off to find the king and requested for his presence at the Second Queen's room. The king acknowledge the request but before leaving , he bestows a gift to his daughter. 

"You my child, will have the stars in your eyes. You will lead this nation well and not be clouded by the greedy heart of others." With a kiss to Y/N's forehead, he takes his leave.

"Your highness, you are still very tired. Please go to sleep and get some rest," says court lady Ara. 

"Thank you Ara. The rest of you may leave now." After saying so the First Queen drifts off to a much needed deep sleep. Little did she know, court lady Mi-Sook was still there, hiding behind the seaweed decorations. Quietly, she saw by the bedroom and lifted the small newborn into her hands. Scared for her life, she slowly and swiftly swam to the side door and out of the castle. 

"I'm sorry princess but if I do not do this, I will be the one who is at death's hand." She swam off into the distance as far as she could from the castle. "Still I can not bear to kill you with my own hands. I shall leave you here and pray for your well being." She left the princess hidden in the short green seaweeds of the small town outside the kingdom. 

There was three kingdoms under the sea. All of them were quite far yet not far enough. In between the three kingdoms was a small town that the kingdoms did not control. It is the main location where the three kingdoms can interact and openly trade. Everyone got along well and respected their main goal to maintain the well-being of the Merfolk and the ocean. As the little princess was left here, it would not be long before someone found her. But the matter of who it is was the real problem. 

Not far from there, the sea witch saw the panicking court lady and followed her. She saw the girl placed in the seaweeds and through much debate, decided to take her in. "Child, your story can not end here. Though others may have abandoned you, I will not do the same. You will be my child as of this moment," she said smiling brightly. The princess smiled and around her neck was a small necklace engraved with the name Y/N. "You shall keep this name and live brightly."
