Chapter 28.

Alexa's POV
"Hello?" Mom answered.
"Hi mom."
"Lex? Is that you?"
"In the flesh."
"Oh my god Lex. I'm on my way."
"Okay see you later mom." I hung up and handed the phone back to Ash. I gave her a smile and grabbed her hand.
"Do you want anything from the shop? I'm going to get coffee me and Ash." Ali said standing up. I turned to look at her and shook my head no and she walked out. I turned back to to face Ash.
"We need to talk."
"About what kid?"
"Why are you keeping your feelings locked away?"
"I'm not."
"See Ash here's the thing. We know each other so well we know when each other are lying. So spill."
"I have to be strong for you. I have to be strong for Al. And Hope,Kel and Carli. Lex they broke down when they saw you lifeless on the ground. I guess it's easier to keep them locked away and put up a tough front to help people."
"Ashlyn Michelle Harris you have always told me to let it all out when I'm sad. So come sit next to me and leave all of your feelings out and I'll be here for you." I moved over so she could sit. She reluctantly go in next to me and I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and put her head on my chest. We sat in silence for a moment but she let all her feelings out. She burst out crying and shaking. I ran my fingers through her hair and pulled her close.
"Everything is okay. From now on it will be okay. I'm going to be here in the flesh. I love you Ash. I know it's been hard lately with everything but I'm ready for it to get better if you are? So are you with me?" I whispered in her ear. She nodded and I kissed her forehead. I kept running my fingers through her hair and she soon fell asleep. Ali came back in a few minutes later and looked confused. She set the coffee's on the table and walked over to us.
"Can you leave her where she is? She's really comfortable." I said and got a laugh from Ali.
"Of course baby girl."
"Ali I'm really sorry."
"I know kid. I know."
"I heard you you know. When you were talking to me earlier. I heard everything Ali and I think you should talk to Ash about it. She's going to agree with it."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. And if she's not I'll knock some sense into her."
"Thanks kid. It means a lot." I gave her an awkward hug. I couldn't really move because Ash was on my arm. I leaned my head against hers and closed my eyes. Being asleep for five days doesn't mean you're not tired. I was almost asleep but someone burst through the door.
"LEX!" I opened my eyes and saw mom standing there.
"Hi mom."
"Oh god Lex. I missed you so much."
"I missed you too. I'm sorry."
"No need to be sorry sweetheart. You're alive and well now and that's all that matters."
"I love you mom."
"I love you too baby girl." I took my arm out from under Ash and pulled mom into a big hug. I could feel my shoulder getting wet and I knew she was crying. I didn't let go until she did. I looked over mom's shoulder and saw mum standing there. I took one hand off mom and gestured for mum to come over as well. She came over and I pulled her into a hug. I felt her cry as well. Mom let go after another few sobs and sat down on the chair. I wrapped both my arms around mum and hugged tight.
"I missed you mum."
"I missed you too kid." She kissed my temple and let go. She sat on mom's lap on the chair. I smiled at the sight. I looked over and saw Ash and Ali were the same. I sat back on the bed and let out a sigh. I shut my eyes and listened to them all talking. There was a knock on the door and I opened one eye and saw Dad and Carli standing there with teddies. I smiled and opened both my eyes.
"Hey Dad. Hey Carli."
"Lex! Oh my god I missed you so much."
"I missed you too dad." He pulled me into a hug and I giggled. Carli was standing in the doorway still. I looked over at mom and gave her a nod. She stood up and clapped her hands.
"Alrighty peeps. Let's give them some space and get some food." They all filled out and Car walked in closing the door behind her.
"Congratulations." I said.
"For what?"
"Being pregnant."
"How do you know? No one knows."
"Dad told me. I heard him when we were in the ambulance."
"You could hear us?"
"Yeah. I heard everything everyone said."
"Lex you're still going to be our baby."
"I know but I just need a while."
"Lex please don't do this."
"I'm not doing anything. I'm just asking for space."
"You're pushing me away."
"Momma you're 3 months pregnant and you never told me. How am I suppose to feel? I'm happy for you. I really am and I'm going to try be the best role model for your child. I love it like a bug sister should."
"You called me momma."
"Because you are my mother. Can you ask Ash to come here please?"
"Lex can we at least talk?"
"Not right now. I just need time."
"Okay." She walked out of the room and I could tell she was crying. Ash walked in a minute later and shut the door behind her. I wiped away the stray tears that were falling. I turned to look at her.
"Are you going to tell them about UCLA?"
"I will. Later. I just need things to settle down a bit first. I want to be home with my family first. Speaking of which. When can I go home?"
"Tomorrow evening."
"Oh thank god. I'm so uncomfortable." She laughed and turned on the tv. Everyone came back into the room and sat and ate. I wasn't hungry but the nurse made me eat. It was horrible. I was being distant from momma and everyone could see it. At 10pm everyone went home except for Mom. She wanted to stay. She tucked me into bed and sat down next to me.
"Mom?"
"Mmhm."
"I got accepted to UCLA on a full scholarship."
"YOU WHAT? Lex that's brilliant."
"I want to wait to tell everyone tomorrow night back at the house. Ash already knows because she was the one who told me."
"Ah Lex I'm so proud. Sooooo proud of you little girl." She kissed my head and I dozed off to sleep.

Kelley's POV
Hope text to say that she was on her way with Lex. Everyone was here sitting in the living room except for Carli. She was at her house because she wasn't feeling well. I think she's lying but I didn't want to push her about it. Brian thought the same thing by the way he said it. I was dragged out of my thoughts when Ali screamed. I looked up and saw Lex standing there being smothered into a hug by Ali. I heard her giggle and my smile got bigger. She hugged everyone and then came to over to me.
"Welcome home kid."
"It's good to be home. I missed my bed." I laughed and hugged her.
"Alright first things first. There's something I want to tell you all. Where's Carli?" She asked.
"She didn't feel well. I'm sorry kid." Brian answered. Her smile faded a bit. She was upset but trying to hide it.
"Oh well I guess Dad can tell her. Okay here's the thing. I got a full scholarship to UCLA." I jumped up and screamed. I ran towards her and picked her up and spun her around. I smothered her face in kisses and she giggled. I let her go and let everyone else hug her. I walked over to Hope and pulled her aside.
"I'm going to drive over to Carli's."
"Kell there's a reason she didn't come."
"And I'm going to find out."
"Please don't cause a bigger fight. I don't want to lose Lex again."
"I won't. I love you. See you later." I walked out to the car. I pulled out the driveway and drove down the road to Carli's. I pulled in outside the house and walked to the door. I opened it and walked in.
"Car? Are you here?"
"Kitchen." I walked into the kitchen.
"Hey Kel what's up?"
"That's actually why I came here to you. Why weren't you over at the house?"
"She shut me out and said she needed a break. I'm going to respect her choice but she knows I'll always love her."
"Car she was going to find out that you were pregnant eventually. We all know because of your bump."
"Am I really showing?"
"Not unless you stare at it for a while. Car she was heartbroken when you weren't there to hear her news."
"What news?"
"She got accepted to UCLA on a full scholarship."
"She did? Oh my god I'm so proud of her."
"Car please come talk to her."
"She won't talk to me."
"I know a way. Cmon." I dragged her out of the house and drove up to Lex's spot.
"Stay here while I send her up here." She nodded and I drove back to the house. They were all talking in the living room. I walked over and sat in Hope's lap.
"Lex there's a surprise for you in your secret place."
"Really?"
"Really. Go quick before it goes away." She gave me a confused look but ran out of the house. Everyone turned and looked at me.
"Let's just say we're going to be one big happy family again."

Alexa's POV
I ran up to my spot and around. There was nothing there. I walked over to the ledge and looked at the view.
"I can see why you must come up here so often." I turned around and saw momma standing there. I turned back to the view and sat down.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well a little squirrel came to the house and told me about some news."
"If you came to my house the you would've found out by me."
"Lex please don't do that. You told me to give you space and I did and now your mad?"
"I'm mad because although I said those things I'd thought you'd be smart enough to know that I actually need you. I need you more than anyone back there. I need my mom. Now more than ever but you weren't there. I wanted to tell you I got accepted and see your face light up. I wanted to see you step away from everyone while they hug and kiss me but when they finished I'd run into your arms and you'd tell me how proud you are. I needed that Momma. I needed you. And I'm sorry I said those things."
"Lex I'm always here. I love you no matter what you do or say. I want you to be happy. You are my world. I love you."
"I love you too momma." She sat down next to me and put her head on my shoulder. I put my hand on her thigh and she intertwined our fingers. We sat like this for nearly an hour before it started to get dark. I stood up and helped momma up. I brushed off the dirt and took her hand in mine. We walked back to the house and walked in. We walked into the living room and no one was there. Actually there wasn't any cars in the driveway at all. I looked over at mom and she shrugged.
"Soccer?"
"Am obviously Lex." I laughed at her response and walked over to the tv. I grabbed the remote and turned it on. FCKC were playing Thorns. It looked like an intense game. I sat down next to momma and she wrapped her arms around me. We watched the game together like old times. I fell asleep against her side.
