A/N: This is so bad but yeah I updated. Thanks for 4k views

"Hey bub." I say whilst leaning on his bed in the hospital, today is the day that he finally comes home and I'm so excited, James and the kids didn't come with me today because before I can bring him home I have to sit through a dull lesson on how to correctly give him his pain medicine, fun. But I don't mind too much because at the end of this I get to take my son home.

"Alright, so if you just want to pick Josh up and then you can follow me down to the teaching room." I'm told by a doctor, I just nod desperately trying to hide my nerves. I pick Josh up and almost instantly he wraps his small arms around me like a kola. I look down at him and he looks so adorable, his head curled into me whilst clearly trying to hold back the urge to scream. I then walk down the corridor following the doctor threw the twists and turns of the hospital.

Eventually, I reach the room and walk inside. I look  around and am surrounded by posters all with words on that I don't understand, how an earth am I supposed to be able look after Josh? I sit down still with Josh in my arms and almost instantly the lesson begins. I sit there, listing to every single word I'm told about his intensive treatments and try to remember as much as I can. But as quickly as new words get spoken they fall out of my ear, I can't look after a child in need of so much medical support.

I'd been sat in the room now for about an hour listing to all the different types of pain meds that I had to administer when I'm told that I have to try and inject a fake doll with the right amount and the right type of medicine. I place Josh down on the chair next to me and with unsteady legs I walk towards the table where the dummy is. I pick up what I think is the right medicine and then inject what I think is the right amount. I then look up at my instructor unsure and then he smiles

"Yup, that's it, I'm going to give you a full diary as to what he needs and when he needs it." he says, I let out a huge sigh of relief and then he hands me a book that I presume is full of all the different types of medicine he has to have. I open it up and then gasp, I knew he was on a lot but I didn't think it was this much, what was causing my innocent child to be so ill? I'm then dismissed and head out of the hospital with Josh.

When I walk I out I'm greeted with a sight I didn't expect, there are hundreds possibly even thousands of reporters stood there all trying to get an update on the "Unsolved medical mystery." I just shake it off and walk in a direct line towards my car. I get in and then strap Josh in, I start the engine and drive home.

About half way through the drive Josh begins to scream in pain and I don't know what to do, I'm in the middle of a busy junction so I can't pull in, nor can I take my eyes off the road. I try to focus but can't, cars are moving around me and yet I can't think enough to move so I'm basically just blocking the middle of the road, that's when I hear it. "BANG"
