We were all in the car on the way home from the studio, I was exhausted but was still so happy to be out of hospital, all the kids had been pretty excited to hear that I was coming home but I couldn't help but notice that there was an empty seat in the car where Josh should be sat, if only he was still here.
We got home and I slowly walked into the house, the steps at the door weren't exactly ideal but I managed to get up them, once I was in I went into the living room and carefully sat down on the sofa. I was about to turn the TV on when I noticed that above the fireplace where there was a little tribute to Annie there is now one for Josh as well, it makes me smile a small smile. It was bitter sweet, it was so beautiful and it reminded me how he's never be forgot yet he was still dead, I was never going to give him another kiss.
"Mommy can you help me take my shoes off?" Isaac screamed at me interrupting my thoughts, I smiled at him
"can you climb up here so I can reach?" I asked him, normally I'd just bend over but that's not really an option when you're back is still extremely weak, he looked up at me confused but nodded and climbed up, I began taking his shoes off whilst listing to him babble, it reminded me why I love being a Mom.
2 years later (big time skip but it was getting nowhere so..)
Today was Christmas eve, but Christmas eve didn't just been the day before Christmas, it also meant the day before the oldest kids birthday, it was crazy how they were turning four tomorrow it only feels like yesterday since I gave birth to them. The triplets are three and our newest addition to the family, Caleb Josh Logan Tordjman, is only two weeks old. He was a complete accident but also one of the best accidents James and I have ever made. I'm in the kitchen preparing Christmas dinner whilst keeping an eye on a sleeping Caleb. Tomorrow Emily, Hunter, Brooke (their one year old daughter), my parents, James' parents, Piper, Abigail, Molly and Amy are all coming round for dinner and as a bit of a birthday party for the oldest kids.
I'd just finished cleaning up when Caleb woke up clearly wanting a feed, I picked him up and brought him into the living room where Poppy, Isla, Amelia and Lottie were all playing with their dolls, I sat down and started feeding him
"Mommy tell Poppy that she can't play with us because I don't like her." Lottie said, I knew she didn't mean it but as much as they got along they also fell out, it was pretty tiring
"No Lottie, I'm not telling Poppy that she can't play." I say firmly, Poppy gives Lottie a smug smile making me giggle
"But Mommmmmyyyyyy, that's not fare." Lottie moaned
"Lottie can you not tell Mommy's a bit busy at the moment?" I ask her, she nods her head a little bit
"But Mommyyyy I don't like Poppy." she says, I sigh
"James, can I have a hand?" I call down to the basement where we have a dance studio, I know he's down there showing the boys how to tumble, much to my disliking.
"Sure, give me a sec." he replies shortly before I hear him running up the stairs, he walks in and trys to work out what I need help with
"Can you talk to Lottie and tell her that Poppy can play because she's not listing to me and I can't really move because I'm feeding the little one." I say, he nods and then kneels down next to the girls.
Before long all the girls are playing nicely again, he's basically a child whisperer, he goes back downstairs again and then I finish feeding Caleb and put him up in his room, I turn the light out and leave him to sleep whilst I finish wrapping Christmas and birthday presents.
