Summer stared out her window. Her hand was grasping her arm, right below the wound from the gun. Her and her parents had talked, and they still didn't believe her. They had ordered new pair of glasses from her ophthalmologist. Her ankle was bandaged. The doctor had said that she was lucky it wasn't broken. It was just badly sprained. Morgan walked into her room.
"Are you okay?" She asked with a concerned look.
"Ya, I'm fine" she turned back to the window. She still wasn't sure what was going on with her eyes, but right now, she didn't want to know.
"Summer, why did you pretend to be attacked? Mom and Dad said you pretended because you wanted attention. Are they right?"
"No!" Summer snapped. "I am not immature like that. I do have friends at school! Detective price is just a man, he can't read minds." The last few words felt strange to say, and Summer didn't know why.
"Who are your friends at school?"
"Does it matter?" She yelled. She sprung out of bed and lunged at Morgan. "Now get out of my room, and stay out!"
Morgan stared at Summer for a second and then backed out of her room slowly. Summer sat down in the middle of her room and put her head in her hands. She tried to cry, but no tears would come. She didn't know what she was feeling. Anger? Sadness? Betrayal? Confusion? Yes, she was angry and sad, and she did feel like he parents betrayed her, but most of all, she was confused. Confused why these classmates would bring her out into the woods just to attack her. She wondered why Austin had left. Was he part of their plan? She pulled her knees under her chin and hugged then close. She didn't know anything, maybe she imagined all of it. She held her arm up to examine it. The wound looked real to her. She let herself fall into her side. After an hour or so of thinking, she finally drifted off into sleep.

She was back in the woods. But alone. She had no clue what she was doing there, all she knew was she was alone. She looked into the trees. It seemed darker; maybe it was night time. She walked toward a large tree and placed her hand on its trunk. She looked up into the sky, but all she could see were branches. The lowest branch was about a foot above her head, but she wanted to see the sky. She stretched her arms above her head. In order to grab the branch, she would have to jump about four inches. She leapt and grabbed for the branch. Her fingers slipped. She got closer the second time, and in the third attempt, she was able to  grab it. She pulled herself up, and climbed to the top of the tree. When she got there, she laid on a thicker branch. The sky was beautiful. It was not only blue, but she could see swirls of purple. The stars looked like diamonds scattered across the sky. She knew that she was worried about something, but she felt like it was going to be alright. As she stared at the sky, she noticed that the stars were making out words. She closed her eyes and pretended to not notice, but it was bothering her. She opened her eyes and tried to make out the word. She squinted and sat up. Run. All of a sudden she heard a sound of wood hitting wood, almost like a gavel hitting the judges podium. She hurried down the branches and dropped to the ground. As soon as she got up she took off running. She jumped over roots and dodged the branches that threatened to hit her head with surprising ease. She turned around for a second to see what was happening and saw a dark figure gaining on her. She turned and ran. Soon the trees broke out I to an opening and she saw the tree that her and Austin's friends had swung off of. She climbed into it, hoping to hide from whatever was chasing her. It walked past, but she couldn't tell what it was. She closed her eyes and let out a breath of relief. After a few moments she decided to get down. As she turned around, she saw it standing there. Her breath caught in her throat and it pushed her off of the tree. A scream of terror was cut off as she hit the water. She struggled to swim up, but she couldn't stop herself from sinking. The little light the moon was giving off was hidden from her, and she sank further into the dark water.
