They pulled into Lafeyette around ten that morning. Summer hadn't slept much, she just kind of closed her eyes. Austin told her they arrived and she woke Ava up.
"Address?" Connor asked.
Summer told him her address and he typed it into Google maps.
Five minutes away Austin asked summer, "Are you sure you want to do this? It could be a trap."
"Austin, we came all this way, there's no going back."
"Summer, you're putting yourself in danger."
"My family is in danger, and I love them more than I care about my safety."
"Okay" he sighed. At least he tried.
Summer looked out Ava's window at the familiar scenery. She hadn't ever left Lafeyette, that she could remember, and, surprisingly, she didn't feel homesick. That is, until now.
She was no good at remembering street names, but she knew the way. Familiar houses flew by and she saw her neighbor, who she had never really met, out on a jog.
Finally, her house came into view. She held her breath as they parked.
"Okay," Austin said uneasily, "are we ready?"
Everyone have a curt nod.
"Let's go."
They jumped out and Summer started to lead them up the steps. Austin came along side her and took her hand.
"Whatever's in there, I'll protect you, I promise." He smiled, but inside he knew that was a promise he couldn't keep.
"I know"
Summer flipped over a rock and grabbed the extra house key. She slowly unlocked the door. After it clicked to unlock, they carefully walked into the house.
Ava shut the door behind them.
"Dad? Morgan? Bridget?" Summer called. No reply. She tried again. "Dad? Morgan? Bridget?" Silence.
Connor came up behind her, "looks like we'll have to play a little hide and go seek."
She smiled "okay, Connor, you check kitchen and dining room, Ava, you check the rest of downstairs. Me and Austin will look upstairs."
Connor army- saluted her "Yes ma'am!"
They all split up.
As they went up the stairs, Austin gradually got in front of Summer. He reached a hand back and kept it on her arm. A stair creaked and Austin jumped.
Summer laughed, "that stair always had an issue, come on, let's go."
They got to the top and summer suggested splitting up.
"No, let's stay together."
"No, you check my parents room and the extra bathroom, I'll check the kid's rooms."
"If we stay together, well be safer."
"Austin, well be fine" she said and walked away. Her room was first to check. It looked the same as it did when she left. Quickly, she checked everything and grabbed her straightener.
A small noise scared her. It sounded human, almost like a whimper, but it was very faint. She walked out of her room.
"Hello?"
She heard it again.
"Where are you?"
As she walked down the hall, she heard it louder. "Where are you?I can help."
It was loud this time, and coming from the twins room.
Summer grabbed the handle, but it was locked. "I'm coming! Hold on! Austin? A little help?"
No reply from Austin. Summer could have screamed in frustration.
"Do I know you?" She asked through the door.
"Mmmhmm!" The person squeaked.
The twins! She thought.
"I'm coming."
She slid her fingers along the top of the doorway. She touched something. No. They couldn't have left the key in such an obvious place. She pulled the key down. It has to be a trap, but her sisters.
Without thinking, she unlocked the door and threw the door open.
A small figure was sitting in a corner with her hands and legs tied.
"Bridget!" Summer exclaimed.
She ran over and began to untie her.
Tears were running down the small girls face. Summer pulled her gag off.
"What? What's wrong?"
All Bridget did was point to the opposite corner.
Summer screamed.

Austin walked down the hall Summer had told him to. The family pictures sparked a fire of hatred towards Mrs Akkesson. They all looked happy, even Summer, but that had changed.
He checked the bathroom. Nothing.
He then headed to her parents room. As he opened the door he came face to face with a man in all black.
"Agent Lyons?" The man asked.
"Nope, Ronald McDonald." Austin replied.
"No time for sarcasm, Lyons. I'm  Agent Ross, and I will be assisting you and Agent Hartley in apprehending Summer."
Austin rolled his eyes "Gotcha"
"Austin? A little help?" Summer called from down the hall.
Austin turned to leave but was stopped by a firm hand on the shoulder.
"Not yet, Lyons, we have a surprise for her."
"You're not going to injure her, are you?"
"None of your concern, Lyons."
Austin glared at him and fidgeted with the door knob. "What exactly is the plan, then?"
"After Summer had discovered her surprise, we strike."
"What are you going to do to her?"
"None of your business"
"But she's my friend."
"No, Lyons, she's your mission."
Then he heard Summer's scream echo off the halls.
Instinctly, he ran down the hall and into the bedroom she was in.
She was crouched by a figure that was crumpled in a heap. Across from her was a sobbing figure.
He ran to Summer.
"What is it? What, Summer?"
Her shoulders shook and her hair was sticking to wet streaks on her face. She was clutching the small figure to her chest.
Austin put his hand on her back. "Summer, what is this?"
She looked up at him with red eyes "Morgan, she- I don't know if she's alive- help"
He quickly grabbed the child and reached for her wrist, which had deep indents from the rope and felt for a pulse.
Nothing.
