"I- no- I cannot control people Austin." Summer stuttered.
"Yes! You can!" He bounced slightly in excitement. "I grabbed some papers from the doctors house when we went."
She grabbed his wrists and looked him in the eye "Austin, that is physically impossible."
"No! Let me explain it, at least."
She huffed "fine"
"Summer, you don't actually need glasses. What you're seeing isn't a blurry vision of everything, it's everyone's thought waves distorting your view. And, possibly, you could change their pattern."
Summer rubbed her temples. Her head hurt from straining to see clearly. "But Austin, that would only make me as bad as them."
"No, it wouldn't. It would stop them, and, as soon as we win, you'll never have to use your gift ever again."
"Never again." She repeated.
He scooted closer, "so, summer, you up for it?"
"After this, Never again."

Summer looked around Austin's head, his thoughts included
I hope she can
Probably not at first
She is amazing
She thought about what the last meant for a second before blowing it off, it was a friend thing. He knew she could read his thoughts, so he let her know that he thought she was capable.
That's what friends are for.
She concentrated on the waves around him, and noticed that they all wrapped around his head into the words.
Maybe she could distort them into the thoughts she wanted him to have.
Her mind did a lot of the work go her and bent the waves; she re- wrote one thought before being hit by a wave of exhaustion.
He jumped up and down twice before coming to check on her.
"I did it" she panted "I made you jump"
He laughed "you sure did, but you're exhausted now."
Her legs felt like jelly and willingly she fell to the ground.
"I don't know why I'm so tired now, it seemed easy."
He sat beside her "interfering with minds causes a lot of stress on the brain. I'm surprised you don't have a killer migraine"
"You didn't think to tell me this before?"
"It would've distracted you, take a breather."
"No duh" she smiled before adjusting herself into a laying position.
Austin watched her as she quickly fell asleep. He was extremely surprised that she was able to accomplish such progress right away, but he was slightly upset at how little practice they were going to get with how much effort it took.
He paced the floor and did various exercises to pass the time until summer woke up.
She automatically squeezed her eyes shut "you were right about the migraine."
He helped her sit and rubbed her back. "It's because  you did so much so quick, I promise this is the worst migraine you'll get."
She nodded and put her head in her hands.
Summer willed herself not to cry and tried to ignore the pain.
"Summer?"
"Hm?" She grunted.
"You might get sick."
"I know, Austin."
"I just wanted to let you know where the bathroom is."
She looked up and followed the direction of his finger to where the bathroom was.
Right on time, her stomach lurched and she began to stumble to the bathroom. Austin followed for her and as she knelt he gathered her hair behind her head and held it back while she puked.
After her stomach was empty she stuck her head under the faucet and rinsed her mouth.
The headache had left a little and was easier to ignore now.
She wiped her brow and turned to Austin, "Let me try again."

Summer curved the lined together forming another word.
So far she had an elaborate paragraph telling Austin what he "wanted" to do.
It had been a day, or day and a half, they had lost track of time, either way, major progress had been made. Summers headaches were faint and blended together as one small headache that she could ignore.
She formed one last word and smiled as she re-read her work
I want to jump.up and down seven times, then run three times around the room, then stick my head under the facet until my hair is soaked, Summer wanted to see if he pulled off the wet hair. The fact that he was attractive hadn't changed. Then I want to do fifty pushups and do a cartwheel, then take my shirt off.
Austin followed all of her instructions the smirked at her.
"Take my shirt off? Really?"
She laughed "Connor said you had abs, and I had to check for myself."
"Well? Are the fabled abs true?"
"Yup,"
Heck ya
"You can put your shirt back on now."
He smiled and pulled it back over his head.
The familiar exhaustion filled her again and she sat down on the concrete.
At least she made progress, that's what mattered.
"Man" Austin groaned as his stomach growled "they couldve brought us more than just two McChickens."
Summer patted her stomach "You can say that again."
He plopped down next to her and grabbed her hand "Hey, as soon as they take us out, we can make the guard free us."
"Actually, I've been thinking."
He chuckled "Oh really?"
She rolled her eyes "Yes really. I think we should take them out from the head. They'll probably need to take us from here to the director and we can get them to shut down the Sway from the inside out."
"Actually, that's not a horrible idea."
"I know. The horrible-idea-thing is your job."
"That's kinda true, I did betray you." He lowered his head.
She looked at him "That's another thing. We're about to take down an organization put together by crazy adults and I think that there should be nothing between us. Austin, i forgive you."
His eyes widened "Really?"
"Yes really. I feel like you really honestly made a mistake. My mom and Ava, they're different. They did this on their own will and you- I feel like it was almost demanded of you. Austin, i forgive you."
He pulled her into a hug and held her tight.
"Thank you Summer, thank you."
"Hey, that's what friends are for, right?"
He let her go, "Yup, friends, that's us, the two amigos."
Her eyebrow raised "Ha, ya."
After a moment of awkward silence Austin spoke "I'm really proud of your progress Summer. It was much easier than anyone couldve predicted."
Her eyes wells up. "Austin, that's because I've done it before."
