They pulled into Washington D.C.  for lunch. Austin drove into the drive thru of McDonald's and bought some food. They say in the truck in the parking lot and discussed the plan
"Technically this guy lives in Bethesda which is half an hour from here, so we'll leave here and get there by 1:00" Austin said
The other two nodded their heads in understanding and continued to eat. Summer put a chicken nugget in her mouth and frowned; these were her favorite things from McDonalds and the angst she felt was taking that away. The guys noticed her frown and Connor put his hand on her arm.

"Whats wrong?" He asked.

"Nervous."

Austin smiled "Don't worry, this guy knows what hes doing. you're in good hands."

"thanks, but that doesnt exactly help. I just ran away from my home, and I barely know you two, I definitely do not know this guy, and im trusting you to solve all of my problems."

"summer, we want to help you, we wouldnt ne here if we didnt, and i wouldnt take you to this guy if i didnt trust him."

Summer sighed. "Still, im nervous."

"thats okay, i would be nervous too, and so would Connor."

Connor laughed "Puhleeeeease" he said dramatically "I'm the bravest person i know. There is no way i would be scared, No offense Summer."

She rolled her eyes and smiled while Austin shot  a glare at him.

Austin looked at his dashboard. "We gotta go get gas real quick, okay?"

they nodded and drove to the nearest gas station. Austin hopped out and turned to Summer "Go get us some candy."

"What's the magic word?"

"Really?"

"Really"

"Please go get us some candy."

Smiled and grabbed the twenty he was holding. The gas station was slightly full and she muttered a few 'excuse me' s on the way to the candy isle. "Now, the hard part" she thought outloud "reeses peices or m&m's?"

Ava adjusted her hood and moved out of the way of an excited tourist. The gas station of a large city, if that's what you could call D.C., was the last place she wanted to be. Summer would have to be stopping here, Ava had tracked Connors truck to the McDonald's nearest to here, and they would need to get gasoline to keep going.
"Can you please move?" An agitated voice broke her thought.
"Huh?"
A large lady out her hand on her hips, more like the day surrounding her hips, and shot a dirty look at ava "You're right in my way! You need to watch where you're standing, now, get out of the way!"
Ava rolled her eyes and moved. Her eyes surveyed the parking lot, and, right on cue, the truck with the license plate Ava had been tracking rolled in. They pulled into a spot and a tall dirty blonde haired boy slid out of the driver's seat and began talking back into the truck. After a minute a smirking brown haired girl climbed out of the truck. Summer! Ava thought. Summer strolled into the gas station and made her way to the candy isle.
Ava pulled her hood down and let out a breath. Time to complete her mission.

"Reeces" a girls voice said from behind Summer.
Summed started to turn around "Wha-"
Her question was cut off by a gasp. Ava was there, again.
"Ava! How did you find me?" She asked.
Ava laughed "Hug first!"
Summer hugged her and then looked her in the eye "How did you do it?"
"I found Austin's go to place once I heard you two ran away. That happened to be the Paisleys which is where I met Mrs Paisley, she's very nice. Anyway, she told me where you guys were going, I found Connors license plate number and tracked you to here!"
Summer laughed "You're too smart for your own good!c
Austin honked the horn and Summer grabbed the candy, paid, and started to leave.
Ava stayed where she was and Summer grabbed her hand. "You made it here, you can come with us."

Summer explained the situation to Austin, who eventually let Ava come. Unfortunately, her and Summer had to share a seat, which made a crowded truck. During the hour drive to Bethesda Summer explained what was going on. Towards the end of the story she looked down, "I mean, i understand if you don't believe me."
"No! Of course I believe you!" Ava said "I know you would never lie to me"
Summer smiled in relief. Austin, who she was leaning against thanks to the crowded truck, whispered to her.
"Are you sure we can trust her?"
"Of course, She's my best friend."
"Summer, are you positive?"
"Yes, youre being a little overprotective, dont you think?"
He slowed a little and looked her in the eye "Summer, your life may be on the line, im being reasonable."
She smiled and elbowed him lightly, "thanks"

"Bethesda! Were here!" Summer squeaked. She meant to disguise the nervousness with excitement, but it didn't work.
They drove through the town. Building flew by and Summer leaned over Austin to get a better look at the scenery. The houses slowly turned bigger and fancier and they pulled into the driveway of a giant house.
"Here we are!" Summer squeaked. She had attempted to hide her nervousnedd with excitement, but failed. Ava squeezed her arm to reassure her.
They got out of the truck and made their way up the stone walk way to the front door. Austin rang the doorbell and gave everyone a thumbs- up, along with a slightly cheesy smile.
After a moment a scared looking man opened the door a crack. After he spotted Austin he stepped out.
The man was short and scrawny. He looked like he hadn't slept in days and dark circles encompassed his eyes. His bloodshot eyes were an olive green and his brown hair was a mess. A small mustache sat under his long nose and his lips were pulled into a thin line.
"Austin" he said gruffly
Austin reached out to shake his hand "It's good to see you again, Dr-"
The man grabbed his hand and pulled him inside. After everyone was rushed into the house, he slammed the door.
"I cant" he hissed "I can't do this."
