Alexander Nixon
I stood directly at my office window looking out in the distance admiring the view. I almost forgot I was on a call with my parents until I heard my name being called repeatedly. Nine o'clock in the morning and I was explaining to them about the situation that took place just yesterday, including how I let my emotions get the best of me and humiliated that girl.
"You guys do not understand how awful I feel." I faced the phone and took a seat at my desk and raised the badge in my hand for what I'm sure is the tenth time in the past ten minutes. Nayeli.
"If you feel so bad about it why don't you search for the girl and apologize instead of bothering us?" My father's straightforwardness can be annoying at times.
"He shouldn't have handled her the way he did, that was very unprofessional and stupid. What if she tries to build a rumor from it to sell to some nosey blogger?" My mothers quickly spoke up against my actions.
"Why is that always the first thing you worry about?" I directed this question to her.
"People live for these type of things, I'm just reminding you. All you need to do is apologize."
"That's why I wanna find her." My voice was flat this time since I was already tired of the conversation and ready to end the call.
"You will find her soon just take it easy, stop being so aggressive, and don't bother us again." Richard chimed in.
"You can definitely count on that last one." I ended the call before he could reply with his bad mouth.
A sigh escaped my lips as I relaxed in my seat and only seconds passed before I started thinking of Nayeli again. I wonder if I'm pronouncing it correctly, I hope so. Unfortunately, she didn't fill out a form yesterday so I have no information for her to even have the first clue where to look. All I have is a badge with one of the most unique names I've ever heard. I hope I get to see her again so I can apologize.
Just as I placed the badge on my desk my door swung open and my brother entered as if he was welcomed. I'm really starting to consider taking back the few privileges he has as my brother. One of them is being able to stroll in my fucking office whenever he wants as if it's some fucking park.
"Why are you here?" I asked annoyed, I wasn't trying to be an asshole toward him. This is natural.
"Well looks like someone is still grumpy, still upset about our little papers that got destroyed? Or was it the expensive suit that got soaked?"
"You seem too excited about something bad happening to me."
"It's not about something bad happening to you it's more of how easy you spazzed. I heard you set it the fuck off." He paused to laugh and took a seat on my desk, I was growing more irritated by the second. "To be honest I'm more interested in what was on the papers."
"Anthony I'm not in the mood I already feel guilty about it and I can't even find her to apologize."
"I know your sentimental ass is sad." He began messing with things on her desks causing him to push his hand away. Fucking irritating.
"Who's is this?" He picked up the badge that had fallen off her clothes during our collision.
"It's her's, fell off when everything happened."
"So you mean to tell me you have this and you haven't found her?" He raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Stupid her badge has her name and it tells you where she works. Na....yaye...Lee, the fuck type of name is this?" I grabbed it out of his hand and pushed his shoulder for him to get him off my desk.
