"Okay, Mommy I'll call you as soon as we land." I hugged her gently suddenly feeling bad for leaving her.
"And when will that be?" Sonya asked as we pulled away.
"I don't know. It's a seventeen-hour flight do the math."
"Stay safe and have fun," she hugged me again just as Alexander came back from loading my suitcase in the car parked outside, he could've had his driver do it but he did it himself.
"Are you ready?" Alexander asked just as I was pulling away from hugging Stormi who, of course, is being extra.
The journey to the airport was quiet, just low music playing as we both looked out the windows, this is what I like about us we don't always have to speak to each other we just enjoy each other's presence.
Trying to get comfortable I leaned my head on his shoulder, it took some time before his body became less tense from my touch, he reacted to the gesture by playfully kissing my forehead.
This trip should be fun.
The jet is luxurious, spacious, and just by the looks of it, comfortable. We were greeted with glasses of champagne before we were guided to our seats. Alexander allowed me to look around before I got seated. I didn't know what to expect when I was boarding the jet but it definitely wasn't a bedroom. The more I looked around the more I wondered how much does something like this cost.
In no time the overly polite stewardess was ensuring we were strapped and secure before it was time for take-off. I began feeling nervous because this is my first time flying, I don't know what exactly to expect. My breathing began to shake from how nervous I became within the past few seconds. As soon as the large craft began moving a kaleidoscope of butterflies erupted in my stomach. As we ascended into the sky my body began to push back into the chair, instinctively I shut my eyes tight while I clung to the arm of my chair.
"This is your first time flying?" I heard Alexander ask, I nodded quickly but continued to keep my eyes shut tight.
"You're fine just breathe," he rested his hand on top of mine rubbing small circles on my knuckles. "You're okay, here have some gum. It's gonna help your ears pop."
As soon as he placed the gun in my hand I threw it in my mouth, exactly what he said would happen did. After approximately thirty seconds of clinging to Alexander's hand--as my life depended on it--he spoke to me.
"You can open your eyes now." I didn't open them right away but when I did the first thing I saw was the clouds that reminded me of cotton candy. As I gazed at the world below us I could honestly say this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. When I glanced back at Alexander he was beaming at me and right away it made me feel calmer.
"Do you want anything to eat?" I shook my head 'no' in response.
"Speak up, don't shake your head."
"I'm sorry but no I'm okay, not at the moment." I skipped the page of my book, we both have been in our own little world.
After a while I got tired of reading, for some reason, I couldn't remember anything I read and I never realize until I reach the end of that page. It's forcing me to reread each page so I figured I just needed a break. When I looked over at Alexander of course he had his laptop out doing work.
"I thought you said this trip was for us both to relax?" I rested my book on the table in front of us.
"It is but we aren't there yet so I'm just trying to complete a few things." He continued to work while speaking. I admire his skill to multitask.
