Neyali Binns

The annoying sound of my alarm echoed through my room and I almost regretted setting it in the first place. Had I not been on the phone with Alexander all night long I wouldn't be this tired, neither of us seemed to care that we had to be up early for work the next day. I spent about ten minutes contemplating if I wanted to move or not, eventually I did and not by choice either, I have to get to work.

I swung my feet off the bed and made my way to my bathroom. I flicked the switch while looking in the mirror and took a deep breathe before releasing it with one big blow. Now I can't help the smile that's formed on my face, I am in a great mood today. It's like reality had just hit that things are finally going my way, I finally got to move into a new and better apartment. It isn't anything fancy but it's certainly way better than where I was before. I finally have my own space and so does my mother and not to mention her recent medical bills are slowly being paid off.

I was finally ready to head to work and Stormi has reached just in time, she would come over sometimes to spend time with my mother. I love the bond that they made with each other.

"I'll see you guys later" I hugged them both before making my way through the door heading for the elevator. The new environment felt so much more comfortable. As I walked through the lobby I couldn't help but to laugh at the security guard who always seems to be asleep.

"Good morning." I said loud enough to wake him causing him to jolt out of his sleep.

"Good morning to you too Ms.Binns," he waved at me.

"Wearing sneakers again Nayeli?" Adivia greeted me as soon as I stepped off the elevator.

"Don't be so surprised, you know how I am," I fixed my bag on my shoulder. I wasn't dressed like everyone else. Not that I stood out or anything but I definitely did not plan on showing up in heels and a dress everyday. Most of the employees would flash me looks as if I had no right to be here.

"By the way you seemed to have gotten someone's attention today. Wonder who could it be," she flashed a devious smile. I looked at her confused as to what she meant.

"What are you talking about?" I reached for my office door and my questions were answered when I saw the answer sitting in my desk. It was a vase filled with roses. I don't even know why I'm surprised when I read Alexander's name on the card attached.

I'll see you at 8-Alexander

He won't be in his office at no time today, he's going to be busy all day with meetings at another firm located in another state. I won't even mind because we are with each other everyday, he always checks up on me at work, steal a kiss or two and he always takes me home in the nights.

The day was just the same without Alexander except there's no one to occasionally check in on me. I miss it, I wish I didn't but I really do miss him. Now I'm checking the time for what seems to be every 15 minutes.

I start to wonder if he's alright at the moment and now I feel the urge to call him. I quickly dismissed the idea knowing that he's doing something very important. It's not that serious therefore I can wait. That moment I convinced myself to leave him be my phone rings from my bag and grabs my attention. I quickly search for it with the hopes that it is Alexander but when I finally saw who was calling it was Stormi.
