Poem #18// Blessing

I don't want another lesson -
To learn from my mistakes.
Or to deal with the ones he made.

I want a blessing -
To be able to feel right
And to figure things out together.

I don't want to fight-
To always feel at fault.
Or to be confused with what you wouldn't say.

I want understandment -
To communicate without words
And to not always explain myself.

I don't want to feel like less -
To think that I'm always the problem.
Or for you to always tell me what you think is wrong.

I want to feel equal -
To know that we matter the same
And to never have to doubt him.

I don't want to feel jealous -
To always worry when your out
Or not trust you with your friends.

I want to feel comfortable -
To feel assured whenever your gone
And rest easy before you come home.

I don't want to be unknown -
To always be asked about in wonder
Or to be the one left clueless.

I want to be included -
To actually meet your family
And feel comfortable around your friends.

I don't want to be ashamed -
To feel my flaws are a problem
Or like they make me less a person.

I want to feel light -
To know that you accept all of me,
Even when I'm hard to deal with

I want to feel relieved -
When I tell you my deepest secrets
And know you'll care for me through the worst of things.

I don't want to be a burden -
To a hesitant to tell you my problems
Or be fearful of what you will say.

I want to feel like I'm yours -
To know I'll always be safe with you
And to never doubt the love we share.
