I remember the day,
When I first saw you
And when you first saw me.
The world went on around me,
But I only noticed you.
I remember the day,
When I first talked to you.
And how nervous I felt.
The feelings in my stomach were wild,
But I pushed it aside for you.
I remember the day,
When we first went out
And how awkwardly quiet it was.
The flashbacks make me cringe,
But I look on it as the start of something with you.
I remember the day,
When it became official
And I was overjoyed.
The day seemed to get better,
But only because I now had you.
I remember the day,
When you first came here
And we didn't know what to do.
The plan was nowhere to be seen,
But I tried figuring it out for you.
I remember the day,
When our lips first touched
And our cheeks flushed red.
The part after was awkward,
But I didn't let it get to me like it did you.
I remember the day,
When we fell asleep
And it was getting too late.
The parting goodbye was dreadful,
But I let you go.
I remember the days,
Where all we did was lay
And talk about ourselves.
The conversations are fading,
But I'll never forget how we were.
I remember the day,
When school started
And things started to get hard.
The time spent together was short,
But I tried to push past it for you.
I remember the days,
When we would actually get to see each other
And make up for lost time.
The hours spent with you were short,
But I still loved you.
I remember the day,
When we argued
And went to sleep mad.
The anger was not needed,
But we couldn't see through it.
I remember the day,
When our conversations changed
And our talks became so different.
The time between us shortened,
But I didn't understand why.
I remember the day,
When you ended it
And broke my heart into shards.
The aftermath is not what I want,
But I'm only doing it because I still love you.
