Poem #52// Travel The World

I want our car to break down in a small town
Where everybody knows our first names.
I want to meet the friendliest people
Who offer us what we need without anything in return.
I want to see humanity at its best
When the trip has taken a turn for the worst.

I want to spend hours on the open road
Talking about anything until we reach our next destination.
I want to fall asleep under the stars
When we are in the middle of nowhere.
I want to find out who we are together
Even when we are completely lost in the world.

I want to walk the cobblestone streets
In the city that we finally found.
I want for you to pull me closer
When the wind becomes too cold for my bare skin.
I want to find places that few know about
And keep them a secret between us forever.

I want to go to the big cities
And feel how the crowd moves me.
I want to enter every store on the boulevard
And make games of the things we find for each other.
I want to have our many pictures framed
To remember all the times we have shared.

I want to travel the world-
To see it city by city.
I want to experience life-
In every small adventure that I stumble upon.
I want to travel the world-
And won't go anywhere unless you're at my side.
