Escape

Katie woke up the next morning with a headache the size of Texas.

However she wasn't alone anymore.

Glenn was asleep in the floor of the library.

There was a sticky note on his back.

It had Dale's handwriting on it.

It read: He passed out in the hallway. Figured he would be fine in here. Thanks. Dale.

Katie laughed to herself.

She tapped Glenn's side with her foot repeatedly until he stirred awake.

He slowly opened his eyes.

Glenn groaned loudly.

"I am never drinking again," Glenn moaned groggily.

"Let's go find you a greasy meal, Pizza King. Best cure for a hangover," Katie laughed.

Glenn groaned.

"Or we can just get you another drink. Best cure is to pet the dog that done bit your ass," Katie teased.

"Oh god no," Glenn groaned.

Katie laughed hysterically, holding her temples in pain.

The pair walked into the kitchen. Everyone was already awake and sitting at the table.

"Finally! You guys are awake. Katie you have to make breakfast. The kids refuse to eat any thing that isn't cooked by you," Lori said.

Carol laughed and mouthed "Sorry".

"Um yeah okay," Katie said, rubbing her throbbing temples.

She walked over to the stove.

The group was laughing at Glenn's hangover.

"Let's keep it down guys. I feel like I've been run over by a train. Six times," Katie said.

"Then I guess you will really want these," Dr. Jenner said, walking into the room.

He had a bottle of ibuprofen in his hand.

"You, sir, are my hero," Katie said.

The group talked and laughed over breakfast.

Jenner decided to show the group the work that scientists were doing at the start of the apocalypse.

He showed them a of test subject's brain.

It didn't take Katie long to realize that TS-19 was Jenner's wife-- the way he talked about the subject like he knew them-- the way it pained him to say that the person had died.
