Running

Katie woke up the next morning, wrapped up in Rick's strong arms.

She remembered the events of the night before and smiled.

Then, she remembered what was going to happen today, raising her blood pressure to an undocumented level.

Today, the walkers were going to get out of the quarry.

Katie gently slid out from under Rick's arm, getting out of the bed silently.

Rick stirred softly in the bed, feeling her absence subconsciously.

She walked slowly over to his side of the bed, leaned on the edge of the bed softly, and rubbed his arm gently.

"Time to get up, baby," Katie whispered.

Rick rolled over to look at her.

"Goodmorning sunshine," Rick said groggily.

"That's my line," Katie said softly.

He looked up at her with his big blue eyes so that his face was directly below hers and smiled back at her.

He leaned his head up slightly and kissed her.

He started to pull her back into the bed.

"Rick!" Katie squealed quietly.

"We really have to get up. We can't stay in bed forever," Katie mumbled into the kiss.

"Five more minutes," Rick mumbled into the kiss.

"I don't know what you expect to get from me in five minutes," Katie laughed.

Rick chuckled.

"Okay. Okay," Rick mumbled, releasing her with a chuckle.

Katie stood up from the bed and put her hands on her hips.

"You seriously need to get up," Katie laughed despite the fact that she was trying to be serious.

"I'm coming," Rick said, still groggy.

He slowly climbed out of the bed and walked towards Katie.

He went to pull her back into a kiss, but she put both hands on his bare chest, pushing him backwards.

"Clothes first, kissing later," Katie ordered.

"I'm pretty sure it's the other way around, but okay," Rick chuckled.

She threw his shirt at him and laid his jeans down on the bed.

"I'm going to go get the baby up. You better be dressed by the time I get back. We have things to do today," Katie said as she walked out of the room.
